The difference pre and post ACA was that the cost was now being shared by everybody and not just shouldered by those who were ALREADY PAYING FOR INSURANCE. The ACA forced everyone to get insurance so that the cost would be shared by everyone using the system, and some people were still bitching about the increased costs and the fines because they didn't want insurance or didn't see a need for it. It's really difficult to get insurance when you're in a car accident (or some other emergency situation) and are unable to spend the hours or days it takes to set it up when you need life saving surgery NOW. Nobody PLANS to almost die in a horrible accident...shit happens....nobody PLANS on getting sick and need prescription medications...it just happens. It's when those things happen to people without insurance that the rest of us who were already PAYING for insurance get stuck with higher premiums because those dipshits refuse to pay their fair share for their healthcare.
When those people who refuse to get insurance (I understand there are some who are simply unable to afford it, they're not who I'm talking about) can't pay, hospitals lose money. When they lose enough money, they shutdown, thereby making it impossible for them to provide healthcare to the the rest of their community. THAT is one of the things the ACA was intended to prevent.
Right, because people try and pretend healthcare can work in a free market. It simply can't. Many of the principles that guide the free market aren't applicable to the nature of healthcare and it's purpose.
The whole system needs to be rethought, but for now, the ACA is a shitty but workable compromise.
So in other words....What Obamacare did to MILLION''s of people in the 1st place? I said 8 years ago the next person in office would pull this worthless shit of a law down and was laughed at but hey. that's what comes with knowing whats right.without offering a clear alternative could throw insurance markets into chaos and leave millions of Americans without health insurance.
Who cares if millions of Americans are without insurance? Millions already are still without it and nobody gives a fuck lol. Taking that shit down cant be any worst than the chaos that was caused when insurance markets changed plans messing up countless lives and Obama saying " Just deal with it "
Remember, A Man may break a Woman's Heart - But a Woman will destroy a Man's life. - SJK @ the #Antiwokenessworld
All these people hyperventilating and aca will be fully funded for at least the next 2 years while an alternative is agreed upon.
Source : The Washington PostPresident-elect Donald Trump said in a weekend interview that he is nearing completion of a plan to replace President Obama’s signature health-care law with the goal of “insurance for everybody,” while also vowing to force drug companies to negotiate directly with the government on prices in Medicare and Medicaid.
Trump declined to reveal specifics in the telephone interview late Saturday with The Washington Post, but any proposals from the incoming president would almost certainly dominate the Republican effort to overhaul federal health policy as he prepares to work with his party’s congressional majorities.
Trump’s plan is likely to face questions from the right, following years of GOP opposition to further expansion of government involvement in the health-care system, and from those on the left, who see his ideas as disruptive to changes brought by the Affordable Care Act that have extended coverage to tens of millions of Americans.
In addition to his replacement plan for the ACA, also known as Obamacare, Trump said he will target pharmaceutical companies over drug prices and demand that they negotiate directly with Medicaid and Medicare.
“They’re politically protected but not anymore,” he said of pharmaceutical companies.
The objectives of broadening access to insurance and lowering health-care costs have always been in conflict, and it remains unclear how the plan that the incoming administration is designing — or ones that will emerge on Capitol Hill — will address that tension.
So what do you guys think?
I think a man who makes wild promises with no thought to their viability or how he might accomplish them has made a wild promise with no hope of viability or accomplishment.
So... Canadian health-care?
Sounds sort of like he is wanting to do what Bernie Sanders was talking about when he was trying to get the democrat nomination. Slightly raise taxes on everyone and then the government covers us all with insurance.
when all else fails, read the STICKIES.
Well, assuming the plan is good and works then that's a positive point for Trump. Will have to see what he actually comes up with.
It will be interesting to see "how" he plans to do this, I suppose...

Good, I like the idea. Work on it, get it done, THEN repeal ACA if they wanna repeal it. Don't repeal then say "we'll get around to it".

If he can actually get proper, affordable healthcare to everyone, be it taxed based or otherwise, and the people, ALL people, are actually cared for? I'll praise that part of him to the top of the mountains.
Will never stop laughing if the GOP tries to create some half ass single payer system.
At this point I think we either go back to full free markt healthcare or go full socialized healthcare. The latter is wildly unpopular I know, but this mixed bastardized version does only one thing: combine the worst of both worlds.
