Trump Signs Vague Order to Begin Dismantling Obamacare

Shortly after his inaugural parade on Friday, President Donald Trump signed his first executive order, directing federal agencies to “ease the burden of Obamacare.” The order is vague, and has no immediate effect on the health care system. But it paves the way for the weakening of the Affordable Care Act.

It goes on to direct the heads of all executive departments and agencies “exercise all authority and discretion available to them to waive, defer, grant exemptions from, or delay the implementation” provisions in the ACA that “would impose a fiscal burden on any State or a cost, fee, tax, penalty, or regulatory burden on individuals, families, healthcare providers, health insurers, patients, recipients of healthcare services, purchasers of health insurance, or makers of medical devices, products, or medications.”

Looks pretty confusing, I wonder how health insurance markets will react to its vagueness.

Good, beating the left wasn't enough, I want them to suffer.

Want healthcare, get a job. Healthcare is not a right. Go back to the way it was, the system was fine. Why should 300 million people pay for the healthcare of a couple million leeches and parasites.

You sound like incredibly childish. Whatever happens to our healthcare will affect all Americans and you should care about the outcome, instead of making petty commentary in various threads regarding the left.

You sound almost as petty as Republican leaders turning down expanded Medicare funding for poor people in red states, leaving them to suffer without health care for no reason other than they didn't want poor people to have healthcare.

It clashes with the wallpaper, should have gone with a gold that had more of a richer brown undertone than a flashy yellow gold.

Also they somehow look cheap although I'm sure they're not....quite an achievement...

One possible reading would allow for individuals to be exempt from the individual mandate, and employers from the employer mandates. If a few million people suddenly drop of the rolls, prices for everyone else will likely jump.

Also, they need to tell his son-in-law Jared. If he's going to be a human prop... he needs to button his suit jacket.

Nah you edited your original post which just highlighted your ignorance about the changes that the ACA brought about and you resorted to buzzwords rather than addressing my post with any sort of intelligence. No reason to continue discussion, you can move along.

Except uninsured people cost you far more in taxes than if you just helped to cover their insurance in the first place. If you had the first idea about healthcare you'd know that.

If I have insurance and I get sick I just go to the doctor and get it taken care of. If I don't have insurance and I get sick I go to the ER, because they're required by law to see me, and then instead of a $200 doctor visit it's a $5000 ER visit that I can't afford, but somebody has to pay for it. Guess who does? If you guessed taxpayers, you'd be correct. So congratulations, by taking away people's healthcare not only are you making fellow Americans suffer, you're also increasing the amount you yourself spend on them. Good job.

The US was paying more per person for healthcare before Obamacare than countries with universal healthcare. If you think that was a system that worked fine then you're just a moron.

Also, not all jobs provided healthcare and not all jobs paid enough for people to afford healthcare.

Take your ball and go home.

At the end of the day it is gone. It will be repealed and thank God for that.

Either way his reply is incredibly ignorant as our health care system was broken long before the ACA. Denial for preexisting conditions, plans with massive, massive deductibles and copays, skyrocketing health care costs.

Competition across state lines will help but HSAs won't do jack shit to help address the rising cost of healthcare. People who voted for Trump due to insurance costs are going to be displeased when they find out that their premiums did not magically shrink overnight due to ACA repeal.

Single payer will really be the only way to fix it, or some other system that helps address health care bloat (streamlining insurance processes, making hospitals accountable for huge upcharges for things like a $20 Tylenol pill for inpatients, etc).

I am not going to sit around and argue with someone who doesn't have anything coherent to add to the discussion, come back when you have something sensible to say.

So... we make it illegal to provide healthcare to those uninsured and unable to pay. Problem solved

So, if someone gets cancer and is physically unable to pull themselves up by their bootstraps then what?

Seems like a good plan, just let people die. No problem there that I can see.
