The superior build relys on one talent, feel so useless/bored waiting for CD's to return. Damage from changing targets to burst down outside of CD's/procs is horrible.
Is this the Legion Frost now?

You don't need two minute breaths for the spec to be competitive. I don't understand this mindset... It's a fun spec to play and I'm loving gathering storm- and that's with prydaz/sephuz I'm enjoying the spec and having solid results.
I would like to play around with the build but with my legendaries its not worth it, the freezingfog/gs build is fun too but not really worth it with my legendaries .. guess Im fucked.
Frost is probably the second most boring spec after BM in Legion.
Which is more than enough for the build to work, lol. I have neither of the 'BoS legendaries', still manage to parse in 95+% in NH in my suboptimal gear.

On a side note: could anyone, please, tell me whether Freezing Fog works properly? At this very moment, I am trying to run some dummy tests to compare various talent options (with GS still beating the RA in the BoS build despite lower BoS uptime, can you imagine?). So far I've found that FF increases HB damage by some 10 percent, nowhere near the 30% the tooltip says.

Then you have to change your signature
i have no problems with bos but there are some things with frost which annoy me a lot.
empower rune weapon
i would love to see hrw become baseline (mechanic wise). erw just feels counterintuitive to proper resource management (never overcap rune power and keep 3 runes recharging), especially with frozen pulse.
our aoe stun
compared to other meleeclasses (shaman 2 sec totem, monk/dh/warrior instant stun) our stun takes way too long to trigger. additionally we have to use two dps abilites-, which you want to use at the beginning of a fight and not delay until mobs about to die anyway (enraged affix) or use a certain abilty.
it would be okey if both of these dps abilites wouldnt be that important to our dps...
at least we can reduce the cooldown of our stun unlike other classes- but ihmo that's not worth it.
killing machine procc
normally the intent of proccs is to alter your rotation and make you react instantly to those.
since obliterate is our "builder" we spam the shit out of this button anyway and the procc doesnt alter our rotation that much.
also if you are running frostscythe and want to use it for single-target with a km procc, it happens quite frequently that the procc is used by an obliterate which you just used.
You had to press Chains of Ice because it has a glyph that made it generate 10 extra runic power so you could extend BoS infintely with Chains of Ice
However you were still tanking the boss at the time so you had to balance between Death Strike and Chains of Ice (and Blood Boil if you wanted to do damage to 2+ targets). You also had to manage Plague Leech and Blood Tap at the same time so it became a real juggling act.
Kept the -Blood- flowing
You do need super long breathes to minimize the time in which you're doing shit damage. Without belt/ring your second breathe will always be shit because you dont have HRW so youre forced to sit on it for 1m while HRW cools down. With ring this problem goes away. The downtime between breathe windows is so fucking boring it puts me to sleep. And this notion being perpetuated that its more important to get stronger breathe windows than longer ones makes no sense. By virtue of getting a longer breatge you get more fallen crusader procs, and you get a chance yo use a second PoF.
Legendaries are a massive dps increase for breathe. They give you longer and stronger burst window.
I'm not too fond of Frost atm, either. If you are in a mythic progression raiding guild, you are forced in to playing BoS because the other builds simply can't touch it. I can't reroll Unholy now, either, because my Frost artifact is 10 traits ahead of my Unholy artifact, I have the Necro legendary ring, and an 885 horn of valor trinket with an 885 strength / crit stat stick. I have jack shit for trinkets for Unholy, no legendaries for unholy, etc.
So it's play BoS or get benched, essentially.
My problem with BoS is that it feels like you have to scumbag (ignore mechanics, not switch to adds that require moving across the room, etc) the boss to keep BoS going. I've been averaging 33.33% of uptime on bosses in NH and I read that it's more so about using BoS with cds, pots, trinkets, hero, etc rather than getting really long uptime on it but still, it just feels terrible pooling everything you have to blow your load and then if you have to move from boss or make one mistake, your damage is complete shit for the rest of the encounter. High risk, high reward, I get that. I make it work most of the time but I'm saying I don't enjoy it.
I wish the other builds were performing better than they do. Rip.
Git gud or git rekt. Also, Obliteration build, while being behind, ain't that far from BoS one. So if you feel more comfortable with Obliteration, go for it, your overall performance will be better. And if your guild benches you because of your build and not your performance — you're in the shitty one, and should just change it.
Also, I fucking hate it. I am going UH if I get bracers.
Its standard practice for those with fragile egos to denigrate things they can't do/aren't good at, rather than put in the effort required to learn, which requires....effort.

it was significantly more complicated to maintain and required the Chains of Ice glyph, which added some degree of decision making (damage vs mitigation).
I'm enjoying the GS build with the legendary helm and bracers right now. 3/2/1/3/2/3/1. Sims about 20k DPS higher than a standard MG build and is about even with a BoS build. 99th percentile on just about every boss in heroic NH. Capable of 1m dps burst off the bat without SF. If you've got the helm and you don't enjoy BoS give it a try.
