Maybe they should have a "forced" vote instead of own choice? In my country you have to vote, if you don't you get a fine. No one complains about that, our forefathers died to get the right to vote. You can of course still vote "invalid" as votes are anonymous.. but then your vote just gets added to whatever party ends up winning.

They're election vows. Every single president since George Washington has, more or less, broken their election vows. No big deal whatsoever.
There are no worse scum in this world than fascists, rebels and political hypocrites.
Donald Trump is only like Hitler because of the fact he's losing this war on all fronts.
Apparently condemning a fascist ideology is the same as being fascist. And who the fuck are you to say I can't be fascist against fascist ideologies?
If merit was the only dividing factor in the human race, then everyone on Earth would be pretty damn equal.
You say that like we have competent rule currently. We don't. Experts are intentionally ignored today, by design - because of their expertise. Look at the Trump administration - he picked the least expert person for pretty much every office. How many scientists are Senators or Congressmen? How many doctorates in any field outside of law and religious studies?
What we have today is a bunch of 80 year olds deciding how to lead a technologically advanced society they neither understand nor empathize with - into a future that moves so fast even I struggle to predict more than a few years in advance. We have our 500 most important political leaders with their fingers up their butts debating what to name each post office in the country - you know - those empty buildings our ancestors used for sending snail mail.
We have a political system which selects for incompetence. It deters the best and brightest from ever entering politics because it's a thankless, low-paying, low-impact job at every echelon. Our (US, I'm dual btw) politicians spend 95%+ of their time raising funds for their re-election - which they do by sucking rich cocks (corporations have cocks too) - for which they receive legalized bribes. The only people who willingly do this job are either stupid, or enjoy sucking rich cocks for money (the proudly corrupt).
There are only three types of politicians in the US - the dumb, the vile, and the nutjobs. Nutjobs - which here means, "People who actually believe in something, and are promptly disregarded as fringe candidates".
I don't think at all that this election demonstrates the incompetence of the masses, I think it demonstrates that when half the population doesn't speak up, the stupidest and loudest 27% will get their way. We have built a system of government which drives away intelligent politicians, and therefore intelligent options to vote for - so smart people don't vote: because there is no representation for intelligent people.
1. Direct democracy eliminates the identity politics of Trump vs. Clinton, and also Democrat vs. Republican - you vote on the issues - not on who better aligns with your other issues.
2. Mandatory voting means everyone must get involved. Not being informed isn't an option anymore.
3. Electronic voting makes frequent voting on issues easy.
4. Making election day a national holiday makes being informed easier - watch some coverage of the topics - vote on them - go back to your life the next day.
Everyone breaks election vows. Trump, however, has put himself in a position that breaking some are mandatory.
For example:
When Trump says "on the first day" or "in my first 100 days" he's going to need some backup. Short of executive actions -- which are just as limited now as when Obama had them -- there's only so much he can do, and his team isn't assembled yet. A President has 4,000 jobs to fill and a thousand or so need approval. But Trump is WAY behind on nominees, those who do/don't need approval. And, those that do need approval, most of them aren't vetted yet. So when Spicer says, in the press conference today, that the Democrats are holding things up, this is a blatant lie. There aren't enough people to hold up, and many of the rest need to be checked out, as per long-standing federal law/regulations. Trump didn't know that, and this shouldn't surprise anyone (especially Spicer, proud resident of the swamp since 2011). So some of the things he wants his government to do quickly, won't happen, because he's damn hear historically unprepared.
Or, you could talk about Trump's promise to add 25 million jobs. This is basically impossible. Unemployment is historically low. There almost certainly aren't 25 million more people to hire. Trump, who has claimed unemployment numbers that are nothing like the current amount routinely, has said there are 93 million people out of work. Because he's a lying asshole that included retired people and children. If you include officially unemployed, long-term unemployed, and part-time looking for full-time work, you still cap out around 21 million. Trump would have to create so many jobs, it would hire every last person in the country and then coax people out of retirement.
Because every politician breaks election vows
this is why the term sheeple was invented.

Some voters, he still lost the popular vote by nearly 3 MILLION. That is with all the help from his opponent in the election, Republicans working overtime to disfranchise millions of US citizens, and direct interference from Russia. He still lost the popular vote.
His inauguration turnout? Less than 250k. Obama in 2009? Nearly 2 MILLION. His official press secretary called his first official press conference to bitch and moan about the accurate coverage of that fact by what's left of our press.
Clearly he doesn't have anything even resembling a popular mandate, even some of his own supporters have jumped ship since the election after he has continued with petty, unhinged tweets at 3AM (she's a bitch, check out her sextape, etc).
Just don't expect the true believers to ever goose step away from their inbred turnip god-king.

Because he said whatever he could to get into office.
Are...are people really actually surprised he just lied?
Jesus lol.
Because Trump is essentially the same as the Clintons. You don't lock up your buddies. Trump is the swamp. Dems and Republicans are the swamp. He wasn't going to do anything about that. You're a fool to think otherwise.
Also, he knows how to get people fired up by saying things that invoke emotion.
Case in point, saying he was going to "lock her up" by opening an investigation. I, and anyone with a brain, knew he would never do that but the people at his rallies ate it up.
