Threatened to be gkicked because of trash

So the guild I'm currently (only been in it for 2/3 months)in the officers/gms are threatening to kick me from the guild because apparently I slack on trash, admitted I do use that time to reply to /w and texts on my phone/change music/bio break stuff like that but their argument is that if I can't perform on trash I don't deserve to be on the bosses/raid, on bosses I perform as to what is expected of me and in many cases I out perform the other same classes even though they have superior weapon levels etc than me, when I joined they advertised them selves as a social relaxed guild of a few fellow friends that have been playing together for years, progress is what you'd probably expect from an average guild, 2/3 mythic kills in EN and just venturing into Heroic NH. My question to all of this is do they have a fair point to gkick/bench me for not giving 110% performance on trash mobs or are they just being elitist while thinking they are casual?

Their guild, their rules. I wouldn't call it elitist or hardcore to expect raiders to do damage at trash to speed up clearing packs.

I'm sometimes guilty of doing other things on the way through trash packs as well I might add which I still try to keep at a minimum, like telling loved ones "SOD OFF, RAIDING!!!" if they're trying to strike up a text message convo or calling me and so on. Not checking facebook or playing games on the phone though...

Their attitude isn't elitist. They just expect you to participate. What would happen with trash if everyone did what you're doing?

Either let them know that you're going to fully participate and then do so, or leave the guild as they are in the right to expect people to at least try.

I don't go afk until at the next boss I still put in, on pulls if there's packs blow short cds that I know will come back for when we reach the boss

This doesn't sound like an issue of giving 110%. Obviously we can't see their side of the argument, but it sounds more like you're giving 40-50%? As a raid leader of a semi-casual guild (even more casual than yours, from the sounds of it), I would likely threaten to kick you as well. Why should everyone else have to do the trash but not you? No one likes to clear the trash. Do your part and help clear it quickly so you can get to the bosses. Raiding, while fun, is also a bit like a job. You devote that period of time to the group, everyone works together. Be a team player, or, I guess, find a group that's even more casual and doesn't mind you afking on trash.

If I were you I would just leave. In todays age of WoW you dont have to put up with any players you dont like. Why on earth would you want to play with people who would kick you for this or in any guild that wants to kick you

Guildies going afk. taking a bio or flat out going brb and coming back 10min later.

It gets dull! as hell when your trying to get to the next boss but 3 ppl are afk. 1 is a tank another is a healer.
YOU RAID? THATS INC TRASH! ppl know when raid starts so take a shit and get your flasks and pots fixed before hand.
i'm for having a set break time in the middle of the raid time to give ppl 5-10min to take a dumb.

I sympathize with you OP as I can't stand trash either and would just perfer TotGC (i.e. just boss rush mode) raids as the norm but you are part of a group and got busted slacking. Be more careful next time I say. :P

Yea, you should be kicked. You are wasting everyone's time. Most guilds have it figured out to when they can lust and burn all the trash quickly, and then reset a boss to maximize time. If someone afk's or doesn't show on meters during trash they are clearly showing they don't care about everyone else. Simply put, you are being rude to everyone you are playing with. Social and relaxed means they aren't obsessed with people being perfect, but that shouldn't mean they are going to be ok with someone afk'ing while at their desk during trash.

Keep in mind, whatever you are doing, or whatever excuses you provide, you just look lazy to them. Many people hate laziness. We are all sitting at a computer pushing buttons, yet somehow many players don't put out effort on things. Lazy people have no place playing with me.

Nobody puts 100% effort on trash lets be honest here. Now if you're dealing average damage while fucking around a bit, then I'd say it's uncalled for (unless you are specifically told to play 100% in trash, which you should do then). If you're straight up afk, that shit is honestly obnoxious as fuck for everyone else who is in the raid who has to deal with trash while others afk.

I should elaborate on this, I don't go solid afk during all trash. Its literally 30 secs to go for a bio, to reply to a text (if I have one) I still do my job in trash, do the deeps, blow what cds I can etc

If you cannot hold your urine for four hours straight, you have bigger problems then a possible guildkick. Either do, like mommy and daddy did when you were little and go potty before the raid starts or just don´t gulp that third bottle of mountaindew.

Pee before the raid? If you can't handle 4 hours without peeing you might want to go to a Doctor instead of raiding.

That said, tell your officers that you should have at least a 5 minute pee break in the middle of the raid.
