400 million $CAN. I still have hope that we will have the Nordiques back one day. It's better to have a hockey team succeeding in Québec City than one that is unable to fill its arena in USA (looking at you North Carolina and Arizona).
But let's not derail the thread...

Yeah, maybe we'll have to wait that the Lord invites Gary Betman to join the heavenly choir...

I'm going to admit. I laughed. I know its wrong I laughed, but holy crap... (regarding previous post not the overall situation)
Yeah, let's not act as if Québec City is some sort of redneck hive. People are a bit more conservative than in Montréal in general, but they're nothing compared to what is considered conservative in the US, let alone far-right.
Which makes the attack all the more puzzling, to be honest. I feared that someone shooting up a Mosque might happen, but I'd have assumed it would be a more... I dunno, likely culprit. Some sort of neo-nazi loon from the dredges of Europe or America, or something. But an Anthropology student with no prior history of crime from a city in my province? Damn son. I was not prepared.
I do not believe that the shooter had a deep ideological motive for his crime. Damned, he even called the police himself out of remorse (or so I've been told). It would not be the first, nor will it be the last time that a lonely, introverted young man, unhappy with his life, would express his despair by shooting at a few scape-goats he found. Remember the Dawson College massacre of 2006 in Montréal? In fact, there is some kind of hope in the fact that he gave himself to justice, instead of comitting suicide.

People: It's because of Trump's rhetoric!
News: The assaliants shouted "Allauh uh Akbar"
People: Hey now, let's not jump to conclusions.
If there's one thing I can enjoy from these shootings, it's the backpedaling on Twitter.
We know he supported the right and that he frequented 4chan's boards.
Seriously, it's really hard to know. He wasn't even on police radars. The guy was somewhat of an outcast, but he still had friends, albeit online.
His political tendencies are only one possibility, but that wouldn't explain why he attacked Muslims. Muslims which has been incredibly peaceful and respectful of our values.
