Emmett Till's accuser recants claims that led to his death

    Some non-Trump news

Emmett Till was a black kid from Detroit who was visiting family in the Deep South, eg Mississippi. He was showing off to friends when he wolf whistled at a white woman and grabbed her wrist. This was in 1950 or so.

The woman told her brother in law. That night two white men abducted Emmett from his house and tortured him to death. They tied a weight around his neck and threw him into the river. But the body was found later. The men were never convicted but freely admitted it after the trial.

Now the white woman has said that she made the story up, that Emmitt did nothing untoward toward her. Why would you do such a thing?

I doubt half the people here know who Emmett Till was. Some would've been part of the mob.

Last I checked, murder doesn't have a statute of limitations. She is just as guilty for his death as the 2 men that got off, unfortunately due to double jeopardy they can't be tried, but she sure as hell can.

    -edit-

Have to find her first, didn't see the part where they don't know where she is. Although, the family could be tried as well for aiding.

Bingo. You should know your audience by now, cat.
There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that “my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge." - Isaac Asimov
