Like manufacturing jobs, is prostitution and "hook up" sites gonna be robot employed?

We all know the inevitable rise of the robots and their ability to work endlessly and tirelessly compared to humans. Physicists, economy professors and scientists have all predicted this demise of human work force.

Do you believe the sex industry will also be over taken by robots? Right now there are 5,000 dollar robots who's owners say they cant feel any difference between actual sex and robot sex. This is coming from both male and female robot purchasers. Men liked the, not having to carefully tailor their evening to get "lucky" at the end and women liked being able to keep the robot "working" without tiring it out.

Personally, there will be nothing like the reciprocation of a partner but that could just be my romantic side. A lot of men AND women alike are not looking for that, especially when it comes to paid sex.

What do you think? Will you prefer a robot to that of a human? Physically it feels exactly the same but you dont get the social aspect of it.. (at least not yet anyway -_-)

ok, to expand beyond the "sex industry", I was about to say something like "well, sometimes its the ways that humans "dont" fit together properly, or disagree with each other, that makes them work as a couple...

but then I thought that wouldn't an AI be able to recognize the proper response to what you want in a situation better than a fallible human would ?

especially if we go all westworld and you simply don't even know who's human and who's a "robot", wouldn't you invariably fall for the robot thats programmed to argue with you at the right times, and kiss you at the right times, vs the human that may kiss you when you actually need to argue/etc. ?

but yeah, i definitely see the "sex industry" being acceptable to a broader audience if its robotic workers and not humans.

Who would bother with "employing" robots in prostitution? And would pay to bang a robot? If you want to bang a bot, buy one. But if anything, robots taking over manufacturing, etc, would be more of a reason to legalize prostitution. /shrug

Meh, there's no tangible difference between a doll and robot, if you're so inclined to go that route. Realistic dolls are like 6-8k currently. Much cheaper than a year of dating or being with a partner. And again, why pay for a "sex bot" session when you can pay for the real thing?

The biggest problem with all this "industry 4.0" is: Slaves once were very expansive. Nowadays they are very easily exchangeable, the worth of a human which was once quiet high has dropped into bottomless void. And this will indeed finish humans in terms of value.

It would take remarkable AI, on the verge of true self awareness, to replace humans in the bedroom by robots.

I could imagine a vagina facsimile that is so close to real thing a male could have sex with the device without a perceptible difference in physical experience. However, I think the reverse is almost impossible for women.

Consider that we already have very good insertion devices for females (and males) that are almost exactly like the real thing. There is already little to no actual difference in matters of penetration. Some of these devices can even "ejaculate" in fashion exceeding that of actual males. But replacing a human male? Not even close and almost impossible.

Female to female sex is totally impossible for the foreseeable future. Like way after my lifetime probably. Again, extraordinary AI would be needed.

It seems like the effort going into chatbots has exploded recently. Even if they aren't terribly useful for a while, testing their NLP skills every few months will be interesting.
