The Japanese are xenophobes, the US is the opposite of that and I think it's benefitted the US greatly. Steve Job's dad is Syrian, Trump's mom was a Scot, etc.

Not even a person from my family, fortunately. The few that did move during the dictatorship are all back safe and sound.
Interesting thing is, the Portuguese people that went there, didn't got any special perks at arrival. They worked hard for survival, they adapted and, more often than not, merged with the local society.
That's usually what happens when we are connecting people from similar mentalities and core values.
As someone from Sweden I think we should follow their example as well, at least until infrastructure catches up.
While we have massive amounts of available land in this country we don't have enough housing or infrastructure, I mean the average wait for a contract to a rental apartment in the nations capital Stockholm and it's suburbs is 13 YEARS, in Lund and Uppsala the wait is 7 years on average.
If you're looking to buy there's obviously no waiting list but you should be able to put down $40-50k up front and of course be elegible for a loan of at least $300k (based on prices in Stockholm)
Oh look, an immigration thread.
Haven't had those before.
