I didn't think the KKK even existed, was in fact positive they were dead and gone after Obama lasted 8 years.

They haven't done much in quite a long period. When you see things such as spraypainted swastikas or racist slurs, where the perpetrator is unknown, you can be fairly confident it's a (leftist) false flag instead of an upswing in KKK/white supremacy (the case that's often claimed).
The KKK itself nowadays is more of an FBI honeypot to keep track of certain individuals.
