The thread title had me thinking that 12 million were planned to come in en masse during 2017...

I have yet to hear any solution that has worked that fixes the problem of modern women having less babies and later in life. Governments with anemic birth rates around the world have tried everything so far nothing has worked.

Retract women's rights in society (choice, birth control, career etc), make them stay-at-home slaves to the men and we'll see birthrates increase tenfold. Yep, I've seen that idea floated. Luckily not in any circles with power.

Hell, I've been called a "fucking traitor" since I as a white, healthy (debatable) woman will never have kids. None of my sisters want kids, only 1 out of 3 of my brothers want children...

Free childcare, tax incentives (free cash for babies), paid paternal and maternal leave all of them complete failures bottom line is you can't force people to have babies.

They´re not complete failures, it´s just very hard to find the balance between enough incenvites but not too much. I do hope an inevitable change in the system will help with this, but it will take quite some time befor we get there.

Massive education and jobs training programs are needed around the world and a stronger social safety net but population shifting is the only option since we can't force people to have babies.

Unless it is an insane amount I don't see it ever having a difference, having a child is a life changing decision this is over 50 years of societal changes. The birth rates will continue to decline, there are some genies we as a society cannot put back in the bottle.

I guess you're right, I've barely read anything about the history of immigration. I do know that in my home country of the netherlands, it's become such a melting pot because the ruling parties kept holding on to multiculturalism - people are not 'adapting'. I.e. when a turkish mother comes to the GP (family member's a gp) then they have to bring along their granddaughter because despite being here for atleast 20 years they don't speak a work of dutch.

I don't have to look abroad to know 99.9% of the people want the same; a happy prosperous life. However due to indoctrination etc. a happy prosperous life can mean a whole slew of other things. Also matters like morality (i.e. can I have a happy prosperous life if others cannot because of me) are usually culturally influenced.

The problem with this heavyer focus on our own western culture as the basis is that the SJW liberal peopple begin shouting 'nazi germany' the moment you bring it up.

When immigration happens the older generation usually stays within their small community while the younger ones adapt. Any culture that does not evolve is bound to die, that is why I always laugh when people talk about western culture in the US because our culture is the product of massive immigration.

It depends on your income and your work most of the time at least from my anecdotal experience with friends. With laws in place that guarantee you your job after maternity leave it´s more likely that women don´t choose between career or children.

I'm not against change, but during 30 years of multiculturalism this has been the catchphrase. 'Change is normal and other cultures enrich'. It looks great on paper but the patriarchy views it as weakness resulting in a staggering representation in crime rates and education.
