I'm not saying any President should, but how do we regulate the media without impinging on the freedom of the press? And who regulates it? Most likely a government body whom would have elected political masters. Just who exactly decides what is accurate? Or is this just another attempt to kick Trump in the balls?
The U.S. has defamation laws on the books already. The reason Trump hasn't yet filed a lawsuit with CNN, the New York Times, or the Washington Post is because he'd then be forced to prove they knowingly published falsehoods about him. He accuses them of lying and putting words in his mouth when there is video evidence proving otherwise. In otherwords he'd make a complete and utter ass of himself in court and would risk exposing things he really doesn't want made public.
His rants about "fake news" and "dishonest media" aren't about ethics; it's about inciting mob hatred of the media. If the "conservatives" who constantly attack CNN and the MSM for printing lies had a shred of honesty in their bodies, they'd admit that Breitbart and Infowars are the biggest horseshit producers in the media today.

- Christopher HitchensPopulists (and "national socialists") look at the supposedly secret deals that run the world "behind the scenes". Child's play. Except that childishness is sinister in adults.
Oh, I laugh at breitbarts fake news plenty!
But Trumpy is just much more entertaining. The far right here is even shrinking thanks to him!

Should also be mentioned he loves Info wars and breitbart.
I really don't get how people do not see how biased Trump is.
You trying to call me out? We have threads on the very subject on this god damn forum.

Words to live by.
Thats cute. Here is an exact line from your new york times article "The officials interviewed in recent weeks said that, so far, they had seen no evidence of such cooperation."
Hit me with something real you snowflake.
By the way, these campaigns talk with people from other countries. Does noone forget that trump went and visited Mexico while he was in the middle of campaigning? Whats the difference.

Maybe he loves them FOR FUN!? I don't see a reality where Breitbart is worse than communism and what commies did to other people in Europe ...
Communists loved to censor other people (for fun), so why Trump cannot have also such hypocritical feelings about some fake news site? Isn't that reminding you someone? Aren't we all like 'guilty pleasures'?
Kaleredar vanished again.
I'm pretty sure I'm not the first to bring this up, I think Trump is just a distraction, forcing everyone to turn their attention on him, meanwhile in the background there's something shady going on.... what that is I don't know, surely something really bad.
McCain on shutting down press: That's how dictators get started
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) on Saturday defended the free press following criticism by President Trump, warning that a suppression of an "adversarial" press can lead to a dictatorial regime.
"That's how dictators get started," he added later. "They get started by suppressing free press, in other words, a consolidation of power."
"I am not saying that President Trump is trying to be a dictator. I am just saying we need to learn the lessons of history," he said, warning about any attempts to "shut down" the press.
"If you want to preserve, I am very serious now ... democracy as we know it, you have to have a free –– and many times adversarial –– press. And without it, I am afraid, that we would loose so much of our individual liberties over time."
America could use some free press, that for sure. It's not the way that leads to it though.

I'm not a communist, so i'm sorry to say that I dont care about your little rant.
But good job on dodging the fact that Trump only attacks media outlets critical of him, and even has Steve bannon on his team. Trying to discredit MSM while promoting alt-right news sources, nice president you got.
