McCain criticizes Trump for calling media 'the enemy': 'That's how dictators start'

Because it's his personal twitter account. It's not an account listed to represent a public entity. If the person that worked at the National Parks who posted the tweet, instead posted it on their personal twitter, it would be personal, not official. If Trump posts it on a Twitter with the official handle "POTUS", then he'd be speaking in official capacity, not personal.

You do know he retweets all his personal twitter stuff on the POTUS account.

That they don't announce attendance numbers at all. They got sued at one point for doing that and made a policy not to since.

The media are clearly the enemy of Trump and Trump (rightly from a legal standpoint) views himself as the elected leader of the American people. If you think that Trump is the voice of the American people then the media opposing him would become the enemy of the American people.

That's not a very intelligent perspective but there is an argument to be made for that. The media clearly aren't the friend of the American people even if they aren't their enemy, based on how they actively mislead people all the time.

A good example of this is when all the big newspapers and sites ran a headline similar to "Bannon says media is the enemy and they should keep their mouth shut"

What a Bannon actually said was:

“The media should be embarrassed and humiliated and keep its mouth shut and just listen for a while,” Mr. Bannon said during a telephone call.

“I want you to quote this,” Mr. Bannon added. “The media here is the opposition party. They don’t understand this country. They still do not understand why Donald Trump is the president of the United States.”

I think Bannon is right even if what he is saying is overly militant. The media were a part of the Democratic party and they lost. They turn everything Trump does into a firestorm and it has made people unwilling to listen to them.
