Stopped worrying long ago. Khadgar will come down with a badarse teleport scheme and Dalarn will fly away in space serving as our Atlantis before landing on a new planet

Kosak said it, but it's not canon.

EDIT: Wow, this blew up! I was just adding some color to the chronicle, not adding any lore with that comment. It's a reddit post, not canon. The Chronicle is meant to be interpreted and enjoyed as you will! (Source)

Just because Azeroth won't wake up to be a normal titan doesn't mean it can't be corrupted and awoken into a dark titan for the void lords.

The entire point of the Pantheon ordering Azeroth was to help it mature. It's stated very clearly in Chronicle when they left.
With that, the Pantheon bade the titan-forged farewell and disappeared into the stars. The titans had done everything possible to heal Azeroth and assure the world-soul's maturation. All that remained now was to wait—and hope that the world-soul would one day awaken.

Just to say if it won't 'ever' wake up, then that would include being able to wake into a dark titan too. If it will not ever mature, it can't be either or. Like an egg never breaking means it can't even be a rooster or a chicken because it doesn't hatch. Still I think there's a little confusion here. Some say it won't mature but then in the Chronicle it suggests the Titans are waiting in hope, so in theory that means it still can. Either way, I'm guessing Blizzard are veiling the truth a little - even though it (or if) can't wake having absorbed the 5th element makes it somewhat unique to which is probably what is being really fought for by Sargeras.
