Lol... I didn't know there was a thread about Venezuela, i'm From it... It's obvious that Socialism didn't work but now it's worse than before.. When Chavez got the
wheel It was kinda "good" but then he started to expropriate the Private Business, Farms, banks, even that he said Ok all these Private Business will keep producting food, raw material to keep it up but it didn't all of those factories broke up our goverment isnt producting enough to keep the people "happy" And now IT'S WORSE after Chavez pass away.. There's a system called "CLAP" it's a system that Maduro put in but it doesn't work as it should be.. We get a Bag of "Clap" wich contains variety of products of first needs but we're getting a BAG per like 2 months.. we should get it very often because u can't keep a big family with a BAG of it for like one month... And yeah u can get food and other needs but WAY WAY expensive that people can't afford to buy it.. i got the CLAP BAG a month ago it was all from Mexico not even a single Product maded on Venezuela.. There's lots of problems in here that if i keep we will be here for hours lol and i gotta go to work.. But WE really need a CHANGE!
I haven't gotten it, but I know of a young woman who did. The way it worked out, she got clap, then several of her friends had clap, and after awhile lots of them had clap. Sure, sometimes somebody would get rid of it, only to get it again later. You don't have to go to Mexico for clap, but Spring Break is coming.
With COVID-19 making its impact on our lives, I have decided that I shall hang in there for my remaining days, skip some meals, try to get children to experiment with making henna patterns on their skin, and plant some trees. You know -- live, fast, dye young, and leave a pretty copse. I feel like I may not have that quite right.
In the risk of having like six posters quote me. How is this not the fault of socialism? Venezuela applied socialist policies it failed. Other economies in South America heavily depend on one commodity, yet did not crash as much as Venezuela did.

Anyway the consequences of defaulting are too high, defaulting doesn't mean that you just stop paying your debt and that's it. Their currency would be rendered even more useless and creditors could just belly up the oil in Venezuela.
default is hardly the start, hyperinflation is far worse
