That five continents will be added.
That five races and three class will be added.
That the best zones on the game , grizzly hills, Twilight Hightlands, Kun Lai Summits, frostfire Ridge, highmountain, are yet to come.
That we will fly.
That skyboxes will be invented.
That 13 years later instead of having died vert soon as a lot of game do, it is still the best videogame ever created.
The game actually looks good now?
Vanilla STV:
Legion STV:
Your companion pets will be able to run their own dungeon. And it sucks.
Anyone with a working brain would figure that one out.
"The numbers are getting higher and higher! I bet in three expansions our DPS will be in the millions" Is what I said in classic while killing Naxx bosses.
OT: "What would you tell a World of Warcraft player from 2004 that has changed now what they would never believe?"
The game will spoon feed you epic and legendary items.
Uhm if we died the Scourge would have fucked over the entire world? Have you not done it on Heroic? Where you actually go inside Frostmourne. Hell his Dad's ghost pretty much lays him to rest. I'd say that's a pretty badass ending.
Meanwhile half the Vanilla bosses just dropped dead and that was it.

Jesus christ
Oh boys keep it up, we've got some pretty good posts here!
We did die. That was the point of the fight. Then Tirion hit the ol' LIGHTSAVEME button and then completely invalidated all of the LK's strength in his own stronghold of shadowy goodness. Then we just passed on the helm to, essentially, a second-tier character and that was it. Meh.
''You remember Archimonde? Well, you get to kill him 2 more times and now Blizzard isn't even sure if he's dead for good''
''You remember Kil'Jaeden? Well, you get to drive him back.... and then kill him almost 10 years later''
''You remember Kael'thas? Well, you get to kill him 2 times till you realise that its probably better to rip his head off''
''You remember Illidan? Well, he was this evil dude enslaving the draenei and ruling Outland while trying to whipe everyone out...... and now he's a holy angle that the world so depserately needs to save the world''
''You remember Arthas? Well, lets just say that WoW started dying with his death. Thats how much people miss him.''
Game quality of life features significantly improved, but individual/guild progression is cheapened by repetitive difficulties and overgearing rather than overcoming adversity with less. The game took a different path of evolution, increasingly promoting accessibility over exclusivity, making even the most prestigious of achievements eventually feel like hollow victories differentiated by tucked away chronological stamps. Still, you will resign yourself to the time invested here as the switching cost would be too great, and that all alternative options thus far have not stood the test of time. Your realization that the game has fundamentally changed will be rebuffed by simple minds quipping "nostalgia" and "rose-tinted glasses", but World of Warcraft is no vintage that only improves with age; its earlier formula was akin to a secret recipe that has since been altered and, while it does taste familiar, it's not the 11 herbs and spices that made it famous. Beware.

Instant BG queues. Remember when it took 2+ hours to get in an AV?
Combined realms and cross realm technology to fill out barren old zones.
Epic gear essentially losing its meaning.
Legendary gear also essentially losing its meaning.
Built in quest helpers.
People reaching the gold cap of 9,999,999g. Remember when 1,000g was a shit ton of gold?
Being able to make new profession recipes with only 1 skill.
Horde paladins and Alliance shamans.
Leeroy Jenkins actually being in the game.

We talk 2004 here so can't go into ALL of vanilla's features, basicly 2004 WoW was only 2 months (US only)
Multiple raid modes
Dungeon queues
Cross-realm content group finder
Automatic CRZ
Still the same number of realms pretty much, even with connected realms, they added lots of nationalities.
Flying mounts
Timeline completely messed up in leveling experience, both storyline and age of zones.
Many classic vanilla questlines removed in Cata
We don't "kill" hogger in Elwynn anymore (moved to stockades as boss)
Deadmines and upper blackrock spire changed forever, many vanilla dungeons levels lowered and made faster.
Dragons not being the big bad guys anymore.
Mounts at level 20, or even before with "heirlooms"
Mounts costing 1 and 10 gold.
Random People rarely bother to talk to eachother in random dungeons.
Remember 2004 was only patch 1.1 / 1.2 (maraudon) , Molten Core, and Onyxia
Ok if we add 2005 and 2006 here, a lot more options.
