Oddly enough if you do max, there is a frost mage way ahead of all others by about 100k(over 1m dps). So apparently, in the best circumstances, a frost mages is OP on Trillax. Meanwhile as Fire I'm pulling 480k on Heroic Trillax at 894.

Yep, because not many know about the double ice lancing. It's broken with the right gear. Being fixed in 7.2 I believe (not positive). The spec requires a weird MS on some occasions. But you can use an addon or cvar to add delay. People that know what they're doing can do insane with frost. If the fight mechanics aren't too punishing the uptime you can have and damage output is pretty nutty.

yeah, the double ice lancing from brainfreeze procs is going to be fixed but they have also said that the frozen touch talent is underperforming and will get buffed as long as said buff wont make it possible to have the IV buff up 100% of the time, so in terms of dps output with frozen touch it should actually endup up as a slight buff but with that said, getting 1 ice lance of is working as intended tho but even with the double ice lancing, the overall result will be fairly low as you wont have the haste to double ice lance all the time hence why a buff to frozen touch should end up as a slight buff as that is more reliable than double ice lance.

and no, frost isnt OP it just does 2 things really well like pretty much 90% of the melee specs.

Lust+Veins will probably cover it IF YOU ARE CLOSE ENOUGH TO THE MOB (read: < 15 yds)

The further you are, the more haste you'll need.

it's overpowered it's nothing to do with being "competitive" it's ranged doing mechanics while melee get carried sitting on the boss.

and it's not so much frost overpowered as it's legendaries are overpowered because blizz as usual lets shit slip under the radar.

Frost with double lance is in the best spot. Mage deserves to be OP to some extent, its unfair for hybrid classes to be beating all 3 mage specs in almost all situations

i wouldnt say mages deserve to be OP, but they do deserve to have a spec that isnt crap, in a perfect world all 3 specs would be great but we have to settle for blizz class balance *cough*, frost falls into that category and no, frost isnt OP, if it is, then 80% of all melee specs are OP, if anything fire is underpowered atm.
