    He is lucky.

In my country, Clinton and him will be mysteriously disappeared long ago.

    Notable.

When Bharara met with Trump and Sessions in November, it was clear he was asked to stay on, according to the person briefed on the situation. What was apparently not made explicit was whether that request applied to Trump's full term or just the transition period. Bharara had believed it was for the full term.

Ok so he chose to be fired and this is newsworthy?

And then Sessions asked him to resign and he did not. So he got fired ( removed ). I would say he was asking to be fired. :P

And by the way this is common practice with new incoming administrations. Even Lincoln did it. Clear the old administrations left over residue.

Jesus fucking christ. He was one of the nation's best and most respected federal prosecutors but the DOJ at request of Trump and new AG Sessions have begun trying to purge. Bharara was even asked to stay by Trump and Sessions after the election before just in the past week demanding their resignation of select attorneys for reasons not given.

edit: The twist, Bharara would be the prosecutor overseeing the investigation on Trump Tower, the wiretapping claim, and any information pulled from the FBI's investigation of the server communications with Russian banks coming from the Trump email server.
Replacing all the prosecutors is standard practice since Bill Clinton was president. This is not a news story.

I'm sure that its happened way before Clinton.

Oh didn't Trump claim in some of his rigorous campaigns that "we're gonna drain the swamp" and maybe even that Obama officials are going to be fired????
Or does that not count for a warning??? Oh the contradictions in liberal heads, so hard to resolve, so hard.

Aren't you supposed to have replacements lined up first?

Doesn't seem so. Not going to hurt anything anyways.

Until new U.S. attorneys are confirmed, Flores said career prosecutors in the 94 districts will continue overseeing cases. The Trump administration has not yet nominated any new U.S. attorneys.

It's also scummy because unlike with past presidents, there's no replacement lined up.

Usually federal attorneys stay in office until their replacement is confirmed and ready to take over.

    So yeah, this is different.

Trump can't even do what other presidents have done without fucking it up.

Their second in command will do the job until replacements are confirmed. This isn't really a significant event. This is like slow news day fodder.

Yes but, he was the first to replace them all right off the bat, and that has been the practice ever since.

It may be different, but I am not seeing the problem. The mission is still being completed until the replacements are named. If the mission fails, or replacements are never named, then I am on board.

This isn't new. Clinton fired ALL of the US Attorneys when he came into office. They serve at the pleasure of the President. It's been that way for longer than I've been alive.

The only issue, really, is that it highlights the hand of politics touching the legal system. Prosecutors are supposed to be independent, but we all know they aren't really, and things like this show light through the cracks.

The same issue has come up in some form or another for every president I've been alive during, and ultimately it blows over.

We'd have to start humanity over to weed out corruption, and even that probably wouldn't work.

An Interesting read below on how dictatorships frequently replace the justice system with something more to their liking. Make no mistake USA - you are heading down this road.

The Third Reich has been called a dual state, since the normal judicial system coexisted with the arbitrary power of Hitler and the police. Yet, like most areas of public life after the Nazi rise to power in 1933, the German system of justice underwent "coordination" (alignment with Nazi goals). All professional associations involved with the administration of justice were merged into the National Socialist League of German Jurists.

And filling it with toxic waste.... no rational person can see Trump's actions as good. That's a fact.

Then again - 43% of the country believes the world is 6000 years old, so rationality is definitely in short supply. That is what you get when education isn't an important thing.
