I've dealt with psychologists. They just blabber about random shit. I needed help for my vomit inducing anxiety according to them. Things just got worse and worse. Did therapy help? No. I had no idea what anxiety even was but they said my problem was from that. Some time later after going through a thorough exam at hospital it turns out my vomiting was related to gastritis, got some omeprazole prescribed and it went away. Anxiety my ass.

How is anyone surprised by this? It is China after all, they outlawed reincarnation without government approval. Home schooled ? sure but only in special cases and by "state" designated professionals.
If done any other way it could be abused(and often is) to make the schooled kid unfit for society, unwilling to assimilate or even hateful towards the "outside" society.

"Some." Some does not mean all. Spreading extremism is not speech that should be allowed, in my opinion. Even in the US, where free speech rights are rather expansive, you can't just go around advocating that people go commit violent acts.

Well, what does "spreading extremism" mean? It's not well defined in the article. I am sure the Chinese gov't has a different opinion of that term than you do.

Most things aren't well defined in life and law. And if you're worried that the Chinese government is going to over-extend this to ban speech that it deems undesirable for reasons other than terrorism, then, well... it's a silly worry. Because it's not like the government doesn't already exert control on that kind of speech.
