Why does adapt offer "taunt" for a minion that has already taunt?

But if they took taunt out that what mean you would have a greater chance of rolling a desired adapt giving it an advantage over other adapt minions?

Adapt is indiscriminatory, even if the minion already has an attribute, it can get it again. Just ask that 3 mana 3/3 that turns into a 21/9 with Windfury, can't be targeted by hero powers, gets stealth, and summons more plants than Poison Ivy if it were to die.
