Having Windows 10 I'm not worried about my personal computer, I'm more worried about the servers. Target the right big companies, this could be cataclysmic. Like "Deathwing raining fire down onto the Barrens" cataclysmic.

That's the beautiful irony of it: Giving up freedom to try to protect ourselves from terrorists indirectly lead us to opening the floodgates for cyberterrorists.

You and your private information are literally the product that those corporations sell. Your accounts are regularly compromised with no notice, look at Yahoo, they only just informed users about a major breach that occurred several years ago a few months back, and to assume Yahoo was unique in that regard is stupid.

Smaller sites, like this one, probably regularly get compromised and they don't even inform people, hell they probably don't even know they get compromised. That's how most WoW accounts get "hacked", for example... They go on fan sites, like this one, hack them, get emails and passwords... Voila, huge swaths of people are lazy and use the same email and password for everything and now they have that data by hacking some backwater site like this one.

Boy you sure do love your increasing loss of civil right's.

We're almost already at the point where tourists have to hand over their phone, passwords and social media when entering the country, but that's perfectly fine right, who needs privacy?
If the hacking group is so noble then how come they tried to a) sell the exploits b) release them after no one bought them. How come they didn't go to Microsoft?

For some reason you are confusing what is considered surface information, like browsing behaviour so a couple of private companies can tailor ads to target you more specifically. Something that can easily be prevented.

To something that can't be prevented unless you essentially shut yourself off from modern society thanks to NSA. Information like social security numbers, private photo/videos and bank information.

Trying to compare those two is so fucking dishonest, holy shit.

I should add: if a main concern when using Linux is the command line, then Linux definitely wasn't meant for you. It's definitely not for everyone which is certainly one of the reasons I have a hard time filling open positions every time one of my developers moves on.
Don't get me wrong, I can use the command line if I need to. It's just another programming language, after all. The point is that it's <current year>. I shouldn't need to. I do use batch files, etc, but that's just to automate/simplify some things. /shrug

    Lol what?

The NSA doesn't need system vulnerabilities to see that information?

Aside from photos and videos, the government already has access to this information. The NSA doesn't need to spy you for it.

As someone who does normal work and looks at fairly normal porn, I have zero concern about the NSA ever targetting me. Now I can see why some of you might be upset about the NSA creating these tools, as someone pointed out, much like the tools the police use, it's just not a physical tool.

I imagine many of you are looking up ways to make bombs, invade the US, overthrow the US government, and that's why you're worried about the NSA, because you're doing things that would trigger their flags. Otherwise you would be just another normal person who's not worried at all.

Sounds reasonable... the longer something has been around the more likely it is there will be attacks against it.

Also - I might note that Microsoft currently supports more than one version of Windows

Challenge Mode : Play WoW like my disability has me play:
You will need two people, Brian MUST use the mouse for movement/looking and John MUST use the keyboard for casting, attacking, healing etc.
Briand and John share the same goal, same intentions - but they can't talk to each other, however they can react to each other's in game activities.
Now see how far Brian and John get in WoW.

Let's say I create a code that can let anyone who uses it to transfer money between bank accounts free.

i never used it but someone stole it and posted online... you know what will happen ? i will die in prison for it. because i created it.
It's almost like government agencies and normal citizens operate under two different codes of law, because ya know, they're not the same.

I just hope they figure out who leaked the information, try and convict them of treason, and give them no less less than life in prison at hard labor with no possibility of parole...

Many Americans wanted all of the NSA and what it came with, to feel secure.

Hello, I'm an actual linux user here and I can tell you that you're wrong. Firstly, Linux does have better UI's than Windows though not many. If you like a Windows like UI, then use Cinnamon. It's more powerful in my opinion. If you like a Mac OSX UI, then you use Elementary OS's UI. I actually made the Cinnamon UI look like Windows 10, just to trick people. Everything from the start button down to the boot logo.

Secondly, you don't need to learn commands to use Linux. That shit stopped years ago, but that largely depends on the distro you use. Ubuntu even tries to hide the terminal window. Thirdly, Windows 10 now uses the Ubuntu bash shell, due to popular demand. Bash is very powerful, and Microsoft recognized this and integrated into Windows.
