I don't think it's fair to say he has 'fucked' anyone. While it's hard to disagree with your estimation of his leadership skills, its also hard to disagree that at heart he is a good person with social-democratic ideals that align with the Labour Party(far more than the ideals of Tony Blair). There are things about him that I dont enjoy. He comes across as an ideologue, spends too much time addressing rooms full of people who already agree with him, and surrounds himself with his pals.
It's not surprising that, given the ostracization of the Labour left for 10 years, they have made clear statements with Miliband and Corbyn that Labour members would rather be right than powerful.
Given how right-wing England is, he is unlikely to win, but I can certainly foresee a situation when May goes back in with a diminished majority and lot less power.
