    Can WoW be Revived?

Its sad to see wow in the state it currently is. it really is, even though i dont play the game anymore i still read the forums and check for news and updates on the game. this is a game that i devoted so many hours of my life it was once unthinkable to think that wow would be in the posistion it is in right now.

I quit the game in WoD and didnt look back didnt bat an eyelid, the game was terrible, i came back again and quit legion a month after its release. and i didnt care one bit, simply quitting back in wotlk or bc days would of been near enough impossible.

The amount of memorys i have in this game will be forever with me, mainly in the earlyer days of the game, when the game was actually something special.

These days it seems like wow no longer knows what it wants to be, and has steered so far from the origninal vision of the game its unrecognisable.

Many people do not like the way the game is heading and have quit, over the last year or so popular YouTubers and streamers have stopped playing or dropped into obscurity. mainly because of the decline of the game in recent years.

Theres something about this game that still draws me to it, but i just cant bring myself to play it ever again unless they find a way to go back in time somehow, but i think the damage cant be revesed now, the game is headed in one direction and seems intent in heading that way.

I cant even watch any gameplay related to wow anymore, pvp or otherwise, its just unrecocnisable to the game i once loved. its actually laughable how bad combat and pvp is now.

I want the game to go back to the days when it had depth, meaning, purpose and was one of the greatest mmos on the planet.

They have all but destroyed class identity, damage numbers are through the roof and silly, content is limited to a tiny island with 6 zones in it, the levels are obsurd, level 110 seriously? I mean the list could go on forever but i jsut CBA.

I just want blizzard to sit down and have a serious descussion about the game. i want them to sit there and seriously discurss where did it all go wrong.

I want them to magically reverse all the changes they have done to the game and take us back to vanilla BC and WOTLK days of the game, back when the game was simply amazing and they had everything right before everything went wrong.

I want them to return to where it all began and start fresh again, Kalimdor and the earstern Kingdoms, not some distant land that nobody cares about, or some threat or villan that was made up by some idiot sat at a desk and said yeah, lets have that and focus the expansion around it.

Seriously. they need to go back to the original zones, the orginal lore, the foundations of success, and delevel everyone back to level 1 or something, remaster the original zones and bring that spark back to the game, make the leveling challenging again, make the content last for years not weeks.

I Don't want us to be gods running around one shotting everything, i want us to be adventurers in a world filled with danger, i want to feel like a part of something bigger. part of a community and a world.

They basically need to make massive and drastic changes to the game in order for it to become better.

I know its never going to happen, but maybe one day.

A "WoW is dead" thread, haven't seen any in the last years around here, quite original.

What a new and refreshing "wow is dying" useless thread.

Dont like it ? Don't play it.

Most of your post is rather unoriginal "wow is dead wah wah" garbage we get here daily, but at least this is something YOU can change.
So in order to do this, you need to revert your life to exactly what it was 13 years ago. You might have job now? GF, wife, kids? You might have education?

Forget all of those, quit your job, divorce - essentially do whatever YOU need to do to be that person you were 13 years ago.
Then focus all your attention to the game, its depth, meaning and purpose, just like you did back then - pretend nothing else in the world exists. Set your mental age to your past self as it was 13 years ago.

I think you'll find that the game is just as engaging and time consuming as it was. And it won't be a joke to you - it's your life.

Go on, let us know how you get along with it.

WoW, you managed to write whole wall of text and nothing at all at the same time.

I don't think even time vehicle would solve your problem, because it would travel to actual past, not Nostalgialand that you want.

The game is a success, despite popular forum belief. Going backwards in design is what would cause its downfall.

New games are new, 12 year of a similar concept will not make the game new again.

Trust me, going back to old content doesn't make it new, unless you suffer serious amnesia and magically forget everything about the game somehow. Even if they made the game version 1.1 again.

Sites like this and WoWhead and general blogs/datamining changed the "new" stuff quicker then ever. But that's the way the internet evolved, datamining became more of an expected thing instead of something for data-nerds.

Man, u gotta understand that the wow u played was when 95% of the players were rubbish at the game. ofc there are still rubbish players, but not the same anymore.. If u go to a vanilla server, u will find out that u wont spend days, wekks months in strat, scholo/ubrs to get ready for raiding.. u wont spend months to grind for 100% mountspeed etc etc.

I agree that wow was incredible once it came, i was 15 years old, there was a massive new world to explore, fight and conquer with both old and new friends. To get from 1 part to another could take hours if you stayed and explored shit. I agree that when flying was introduced, the "cool","big","unexplored" world was destroyed. even tho i hold TBC as the best expansion (maybe becasue u for the first time got a grip of the world!?).

I agree that its boring to just play on a small island of the massive world, i.e. Azeroth + outland + ... is massive and most of the parts are just leftovers from old expansions.

I think Legion is great, i think that players are that good nowadays that the "old-spirit of wow" is gone, but thats a part of a game, to mature.

What i think would be MASSIVE for next expansion (i guess its waaaay to much work for the devs tho) is to use ALL of the existing content for something.. that would make the world BIG/COOL/Unexplored again.. I would love to fight for weeks to get thorugh a small part of the content instead of dogin the same quests every freaking day with a different reward..

I really like the work blizz did with legion, they saved the game (eventho its more of a diablo game now, but im a big fan of that as well). WoD was horrible and i guess the upcoming year will determine wows future.

Players enjoying the game don't bother with general forums - it's pointless to use them to form an opinion on the state of a game you don't play.

Why did you create a new thread? Use the search function and post in existing threads!
Why did you necro a thread?

sigh. for someone that has played since vanilla. and given up wow multiple times to play MMOs to fill the time gap wow leaves. i always come back to wow. Because there is always stuff to do, because the content is interesting and challenging. because the gameplay is pretty fluid compared to most MMOs. and i know everyone i play with has done the same, tried FFXIV tried GW and GW2, The Secret world, Age of Conan, ESO. you name it. they all always come back. so if you are calling wow dead im not sure you are looking at the bigger picture.

If anything is dying on this topic its the genre MMORPG but as far as popularity goes. wow is still number 1 MMO wise. so please do your research before posting these "OMGWOWISDED" forum posts.

You don't play anymore, you cant judge wow from the forums, please just jog on....

Played since vanilla.. In my opinion wow has never been better.. If you don't have a life you might want it to be more hardcore, but for me wow has followed my life perfectly.. I think this is the most detailed and fun expansion in a long time!
Wow is very much alive for me

No, it cannot be revived because it's not dead.
If you are "drawn" to a video game but can't bring yourself to play it, you may have slightly more pressing issues than wanting the game to revert to 2008.
    Find a new game.
    Go outside.
Do that one thing people do... what's it called? jogging? or yogging?
Shit changes over time; it's kind of time's thing, really.

WoW is not dead, at all. It is no where near it, either. In many ways, I am very glad that you have no sway over the direction of the game. If you seriously have left the game, then stop lurking on forums that favor WoW posting "WoW is Dead" threads.

You basically want the WoW model back that doesn't fit the current market anymore.

I do play other games, im global elite on cs go, diamond league on starcraft 2, Diamond on Overwatch, but i always find myself drawn back to wow, hopeing something major will happen with the game and i will come back to it but i wont unless they do something drastic with it.

I do have a life. i have a job and resposabilitys. im 28 years of age, alot has changed in my life since vanilla wow days. but that doesnt mean to say i havent got time to play games in my free time.

Actually, yes, it is. This is nothing but a "WoW is dead" thread, which is, in all seriousness, against the rules of this forum.
