    Mistweaver healing advice

Good morning, I'm looking at making a character for healing through dungeons as well as to do a different role that I have been doing which is DPS for a long while, I would also quest as well but I am wondering how 'easy' is healing on a mistweaver for a 5 man dungeon point of view, whether that be normals leveling up, timewalking, and even heroic and eventually mythic+.

Does it have quite a high apm? I'm not really looking for something to watch for a billion cooldowns and if this, do that. I did play a priest back in classic which was essentially shield the tank and chuck a renew on along with a few heals from what I can remember.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

It has the highest APM of all healers for sure. You need to DPS to heal, so every single GCD will always be filled with something.
The "rotation" in itself is quite easy, but it's still involved.

It's also the "weakest" healer to play in higher M+ level, not that it's bad at all we got quite some nice buffs since launch.
I really like playing my monk as MW, but if someone want to try healing for the first time in my opinion it's not the easiest entry in the role compared to more straightforward specs.

Yeah second it not being the easiest. And it does have a TON of key binds. Not the best for high M+, but that's, in my experience, a fair bit to do with the way its CDs work. Once you are used to the healing, you can effortlessly put out a ton of sustained HPS, but the big healing checks might leave you scrambling moreso than other healers.

I don't fully agree with that. Of course if you want to min-max you need to dps and press your button all the time.
But you could very well heal without doing any dps or just a little when needed, just take the talents for heal more than the dps one, granted you will not heal as much, but as long as you're not in a group of morons that stand in fire and pull the whole instance you will be good.

Keybind, there are not so much, may be a lot more than some other healer, but I can fit everything on less than 20 slots. And half of them are just situational or QoL. It all depends which talent you choose too. The core heal (and heal, not dps) are may be less than 10 slots. Of course adding dps just increase the number, and some talents choice too.
Add some contextual macro (when it changes if it a friend or foe) and you can reduce the number by 1/3.

I usually not dps and prefers to concentrate on the healing part. However with the current fashion for tank to pull everything without stopping until boss, I have spec myself for aoe heal, jumping in the pack, fae line and wirlwind to heal (the more mob, the better it is) But I prefers to ensure survival to speed. I'm not doing dps, fine... but nobody die until the end.

Everyone have his style, it just depends if you want to min-max or just enjoy. MW is nice, not the most easy one, but since MOP, I made the monk my main, using the 3 spec. I only miss we do not have a combat rez or a some specific "group/raid" buf/use.

Try it, and if you don't like it, you still have a dps/tank to try too
