    Z270 and old gpu

    Hey guys i ordered:
    Asus strix z270h
    I7 7700k
    Crosair vengeance lxp red 16gb 3200mhz
    And samsung evo 850 ssd3 500gb

    Question is, i have r9 290 windforced 4gb
    Is it still good for 1080p gaming?
    Not planing upgrading to 2k or 4k cuz running benq xl2720z (144hz 1ms 27inches)
    Im mostly playing csgo some gta5, want to try bartlegrouns and mafia3 wife plays wow and roblock but she wanes to stream ty for ur help

    i think the 290 has a couple years left for 1080p. mine still chugs along well enough at 1440p!

    Depends on what you play. GTAV and CSGO are completely with it's power, not sure about Mafia3, but I suspect the game is a mess regardless of your hardware. If you're not planning to use AMD's equivalent to Shadowplay for streaming (I think it's ReLive) then you should be good. Wont give you anywhere near 100 FPS in most cases though (except CS ofc).

    My R9 290 does well enough at 1440p 144Hz with FreeSync, framerates aren't the greatest in some things with max details but FreeSync helps with that.

    At 1080p 144Hz it's still flawless. Streaming will work too, its encoder can handle 1080p60 (but not 1440p, the ASIC really craps its pants, but downscaling to 1080p has worked for me.)
