Many are starting to discuss “stealthing,” a term that describes when a man removes a condom during sex despite agreeing to wear one. A report found that U.S. cases are on the rise; it’s important to know that “stealthing” is a form of non-consensual sex and more common than you’d think.
In her study, Alexandra Brodsky writes:
Survivors [of stealthing] describe nonconsensual condom removal as a threat to their bodily agency and as a dignitary harm. ‘You have no right to make your own sexual decisions,’ they are told. ‘You are not worthy of my consideration.’
