Fixed an error in page 1. I said "$80B will be cut from the Medicaid expansion, so the idea that the sudden $8B bribe to get this passed will fix it up is a cruel and deadly joke." Actually Medicaid has been cut by $880B, not $80B.

Given what the House GOP did, they rammed through Trumpcare, admitted to not have read it, with no public text available even a day before the the vote, with no CBO score, just flat-out LIED about the bill to get it passed, made it worse, more deadly, more cruel, there is no reason to believe the Senate GOP would not be as awful.

Republicans in Congress are not moderate, they are right-wing extremists hellbent oo ripping away healthcare from people who need it. They want the pre-existing condition protections of ACA gone, and to take the money out of the healthcare system to pay for tax cuts on the rich.

This is what the GOP does. They deplorable and wicked people, they are a cancer on society.

He'll try to push the blame onto the democrats. Call Obamacare a disaster and call Trumpcare tremendous.

Fantastic! Just letting the states that wanted to fuck over their citizens wasn't enough. Got to fuck over the states that accepted the medicaid expansion as well.

I hope the few remaining republican congressmen from California that voted for this shit finally get their asses kicked out of office. Looking at you McCarthy, you fucking twat.

I do wonder if this will have a long term impact on the Republican party.

People sometimes forget that 2008 literally despised Republicans after 8 years of Bush, check his approval rating when he left office. A donkey could have been a nominee and McCain would have still lost.

2 years later and people gave control of the House to Republicans

That's true. 8 years of Bush and the Iraq war should have been enough to permanently wound the Republican party, but it wasn't. People have short memories it seems. 2018 could be a blood bath for republicans, but they might recover by 2020.

Not all Republicans voted for it in the house though. And now people have had actual time to see how awful the bill is.

Senators are also more vulnerable since the whole state votes for them, not just the district. So any senator that voted yes and was from a blue or purple state would be effectively issuing his own retirement.

Their aren't any moderate republicans having said that

They are less extreme compared to the House counterparts, sure you have Cruz that can teach the House republicans a lesson or two in being a extremist, and a slimy person in general, and, to be honest, being less extreme then borderline terrorist is nothing to brag about.

But the senate is a different type of game, you can't ram bill threw the senate and by the time it gets a vote the numbers of the entire bill we be done.

So when that happens the bill changes again because nobody wants to vote for a bill that shows tells people to die on the streets (first and second bill) it will change dramatically (they already said they would rewrite the bill) and then the House has to vote on the Senate bill which probably doesn't kill enough people outright.

The damage longterm is potentially real but getting rid of the ACA isn't easy, i kind of think this was a way for Trump to save face and that's why the House voted on this bill without having time to read the dammed thing. Sure this isn't way to govern a country but neither should the leader of the country destroy the economy of local towns for his own personal profit.

Even if they are unable to, there's that Darwinism you want to push as factual evidence right there every other day. This will only strengthen the human race and stop many hereditary diseases from spreading too far and wide (like autism).
Well autism isn't a disease, it's a neurodevelopmental disorder and most of the population who are on the spectrum are usually higher-functioning. I'm sure if you saw me out on the street you probably wouldn't think I had autism.

A non-trivial amount of that was owed to gerrymandering different voting districts to favor Republican voting.

It's funny because many of the brightest minds who helped shaped the world as it is today had Autism.

Like Einstein, Darwin, Isaac Newton and Mozart.

If anything, high functioning autism is a genetic advantage, not a disadvantage.

We are talking about Democrats, they lost in 2004 against Bush
they forced H. Clinton on the ticket even though she was losing in the polls against Ted slimy Lying Cruz
they added Kaine the guy people had to google to see if he was the VP of Clinton or Trump.
we are talking about the party who ran away from his own accomplishments till 2016

Don't underestimate the weakness of a party that pushed Clinton who is borderline hated by almost half the US population

And some great comedies have Asperger syndrome as well, Dan Aykroyd being an example.

A masterpiece film such as the original Ghostbusters was written and starred a man with Asperger syndrome. Which Autism is on the extreme end of the spectrum.

Are you sure you are not referring to Trump with that statement? Cause that is all that Trump has done when he hasn't 'won' anything. His whining was so big that when he actually won something (house of reps passing Trumpcare), he threw a massive party.

A massive party for a minor victory. says a lot about him

    Are, uh. Are you ok?

Any personal issues you'd like to talk about? Alcoholism related anger issues, perhaps?
Funnily enough, that's a pre-existing condition, so I hope your state doesn't get rid of that coverage.

Its more a case of what it does to the long term voting habits of new voters. The vast majority of Republicans will always go back to the GOP in the end, but those new voters have no prior allegiance to the party so they end up turned off for good. Its why in 10-20 years we are looking at permanent minority status for republicans as they only have support from ~1/3 of the under 40's. This bill will help continue that trend for people in their late teens now as they see family members terrified of losing their healthcare, and as others of that generation react in disgust and empathy to what the republicans have just done. Its made their demographic problems substantially worse.
