To be fair, I mentioned that those numbers were good in comparison to the 2016 US election. I'd kill for 70%+ voter participation here in the States.

I doubt Le Pen can win though, too much liberal brain-washing in France, they need more cultural enrichment before they wake up..

the establishment will probably cheat regardless with votes.
I generally ridicule the people who claim to be conservative and witty and are generally just people who jump on bandwagons without a thought, but by calling macron a candidate of the liberal kind meaning left probably in your incorrect usage of political terms since your kind probably doesn't even understand what liberal conservatism means, forgets completely that both candidates are right leaning and that the left parties have taken a beating since they are also the more traditional parties, what is a result of all the scandals, knowing all this scandals if you informed yourself just a tiny bit you can consider that despite the huge distrust and disliking for politicians in France this is still a good outcome over all.

Le Penn, didn't get voted in because she's a candidate with no plan, a fake conservative who speaks to the feeble minded who convinces them all can be solved by pointing out a scapegoat in the population. People like you are a cancer to the conservative side of the spectrum who try to open up a good debate about immigration and gets us all painted off as racists, crawl back into your hole and stay there.

Or by lots of people not wanting to vote for either. Authoritan right wingers not wanting to vote for nationalistic popularistic socialism filled with social conservatism.
Leftwing people not wanting the social conservatisms among one. Or the right-wing economic policies with the other.

The (supposed) results from French voters in the US and Canada (according to RTBF) are impressively one-sided if true.

I dont think Le Pen will win, but i assume most of her voter base comes from rural communities?
I expect Trump probably did poorly with Americans voting overseas?

If you live abroad why would you want to vote for a protectionist party that wants to fall back on its own to the point of even withdrawing itself from the EU, they see what uncertainty the brexit is creating for such people and most likely don't want a repeat so they look to their own situation more.

Dont think thats very surprising. If you live abroad, i think Macron is the much better vote than Le Pen. Similar to how the results for Brits living outside the UK for Brexit was very one-sided.

I was going to write that, but really didn't want to get dragged into a debate here, thought it might be a bit of a controversial point to make :P

People who live abroad shouldn't get to vote, that's disingenuous since you don't live in the environment that you think should change.

i don't think it's controversial, people who have higher education are less likely to vote either for far right (france) or for rep in the (us), at least that what most research shows...

Oh good, now we're on to the "Advocate stripping citizen rights because they're not voting for the person I want" phase.

It's not at all surprising that Macron is ahead there, I just didn't necessarily expect it to be that one-sided.
