Bigger than what? We know Trump fired him because of the investigation into him and his associates. We know there are two grand juries active against Trump and associates. It also appears likely that one of them is against Trump himself and pertains to money laundering and thus RICO statutes.
None of this is reaching. This has all been pretty much confirmed at this point.
Considering all the context surrounding this - Comey making the request for additional resources for the Russia investigation from the Justice Department days ago, grand jury subpeonas being issued hours before he was fired, reports of Sessions being directed to find reasons to fire him, and more - I think that's a pretty unlikely situation right now. This very much seems like things are unraveling at an even faster rate than before, and the Trump camp is panicking.
Let me tell you how this will go with good 'ol BloodElf. He'll make some wild accusations, tell us all we're blowing it out of proportion, and then dig down into one specific argument that he thinks he's "winning", and when presented with facts demonstrating that he's wrong, he'll argue till the end of time he was misunderstood and just wanted to ask a simple non-partisan question, confused why he's being "attacked".
On political stuff, this is how he operates. His "question" is just his way of getting back into the discussion. The answer is: Trump's Letter.

I don't recall arguing it was not a big deal. I did say there was hysteria, as in overreaction. Something can be big and still fall into a conspiracy.
Nobody knows, but hearsay from anonymous sources that cannot be traced back should at least makes you aware that perhaps it's not entirely true, as per all those anonymous sources that released "documents" or intelligence info which ended being debunked. Don't give Fuel to Trump's "Lying Medias" thing.
?
But it hasn't. That's the thing, it hasn't. It's an amalgation of patched anonymous sources. Why jump to conclusion so early and risk -- again -- to give Trump more fuel?
Yes, that's the part we should be focusing on, because that's the part where the whole thing actually has meanings.

[...] we have an intolerance for ideas and evidence that don’t fit a certain ideology. I’m also not saying that we should restrict people to certain gender roles; I’m advocating for quite the opposite: treat people as individuals, not as just another member of their group (tribalism)..
Tell that to the people who think it's a matter of kissing rings in this very thread, or who spend their whole day arguing that anonymous sources of unknown origin are failproof. I've seen Trump grow strong enough for the time being. Let's not give him more than he ought to have...

Thanks. I've done the full tour with him before. Look out for click-bait and infraction-bait responses. He should start down the wounded innocent questioner pretty soon - there are too many smart people on atm for him to last much longer.
Politically, he's as crazy as Ransath and Zenkai - however, outside of politics, I find him to be very pleasant with multiple perspectives on subjects. Very nice, but odd. Probably like me, lol.
He'll question the sources of anything he disagrees with, and will refuse basic journalistic techniques, such as "sources" and anonymous" while using those same things to back his own claims, when he actually bothers to cite anything, which he won't.
I'm not attacking him, I'm just laying down how I think it will go.
Answer to BlookElf's question: Trump's Letter.
Oh, talking is fine. Acting as if every one of these is true is the issue.
Look, we've seen what "Fake News" did. We've seen how easily it can backfire.
If you give attention to deductive leaps, or to anonymous reporting, you're fueling Trump. That's how he works.
If you speak of his letter, which is actual evidence, and the fact that yes, Comey has been terminated, that's the facts. You can't twist those. The GoP is already sweating their life out of this and are doing everything they can to detract attention from it.
That's nothing new -- That's exactly what the DNC did with the e-mail leaks.
Actually no, that's still my point. But you're getting sidetracked by an overwhelming amount of information, which in turn gives a golden opportunity to you know who to just shrug it away as fake news.

There are two reasons why President Donald Trump fired James Comey, according to a source close to the now-former FBI director:
1. Comey never provided the President with any assurance of personal loyalty.
2. The fact that the FBI's investigation into possible Trump team collusion with Russia in the 2016 election was accelerating.
Trump actually asks people for personal assurances of loyalty to him alone? Daaaaang. I thought public officials swear to serve the Country and the Constitution, not the President.
Gotta wonder why Trump and his zealots are so opposed to getting exonerated by the investigation.
