    1 dead, 2 injured - Texas U. Stabbing

so, where do we go from here? Will this help push mental health under the spot light, or will this be forgotten in a week because there's no guns to force a narrative?

Nah. There'll be a vigil with candles and some flowers and then everyone apart from those left behind will forget about it. Business as usual.

"The University of Texas", not "Texas University".

Pedantic, I know, but TU is used as an insult by their rivals.
    Carry on.

The fact that there were no guns will be the narrative. Look how little dmg someone can do with a sharp object vs a full auto weapon...

I do. Most stable people don't do this sort of thing. There's almost certainly an underlying mental health issue.

Yea ppl always blame the tool rather than the person. As if people are perfect and the tool is what gets them to do crazy things. No people are crazy and its morality keeping us in line.

The argument isnt the tool is evil lol, the argument is how unstable people have access to and use the tools to hurt and kill people...

No man, youre the only one who knows this. Thanks for passing on your wisdom.

I wonder if you realize the difference between gang on gang violence and seemingly random killings.

Pretty much. If "Joy Lane" dude didn't push the conversation, I don't think this will get us much further.

I thought Texas was a state full of good, law-abiding citizens with guns.

    This wasn't supposed to happen.

Really? Find one stable person that has murdered other people in this manner. I have a feeling youre confusing a mental health problem with a diagnosed mental health disorder. Theyre not the same. Just because there tends to be mental health issues in these situations, doesnt mean they arent culpable either..

And I have a feeling that you're confusing someone having any sort of mental illness, health problem, or whatever and someone murdering people because of that.
This is your argument for a stable individual on a killing spree? Try again..

Wait, what? No I didnt.. I said find one where mental health isnt an underlying issue.. No one has claimed mental health is the cause of this.. My point, as I think is the OPs point, is that stable people dont do this. If youre unstable, you have a mental health issue.

Has the culprit ever played video games?

I can't definitely prove someone doesn't have a mental health issue–nobody can–which is why it really needs to be on you to prove that such a condition exists, rather than just assuming there's one and then demanding everyone else prove you wrong. You're basically just talking out of your ass and then deliberately trying to make it hard to discuss the issue in order to avoid having to actually make a case for your position.
I dont know why youre so angry.. The OP said "Will this help push mental health under the spot light", you said "Who says it has anything to do with mental health?" to which anyone with a brain would say, it most likely played a role.. A point you keep arguing for some reason.. Simply put, someone who does something like this is unstable. If we can agree theyre unstable, we can agree there is an underlying, mental health issue.
