Not news about blizzard on competition.
Try making a real good lan arena and look at the obligations if you were to play overwatch. And know it : they will NOT make it easy for you.
It's strange how much they make it dfficult.
Why is the $20 million being reported as fact? ATVI hasn't released information yet about it.
In fact, a different article even said this:
"According to Sports Business Journal, owners looking to pick up a team are going to have to shell out a significant chunk of change, however. Their report claims that smaller market owners will have to drop $2 million to $5 million, with spots in Los Angeles potentially costing as much as $15 million."
Poor reporting for MMO-C...

The funniest thing about the entire Leeroy thing remains that numbercrunching haha that just cracks me up.
Actually, it just sounds like you're being overly critical. This reference is familiar to a vast majority of online gamers, and even a significant number of people who haven't even played MMORPGs. Recognizing that it's been 12 years since the video was released is likely nostalgic for most of the player base, as it was for me. I've never stuck with any game as long as I've stuck with WoW, so being reminded of something as far-reaching as Leeroy Jenkins is absolutely welcome. If they want to acknowledge anniversaries of other similarly memorable moments in the game, I welcome it.
You not liking the story doesn't, by default, make it a "slow news day", nor is this strictly a "news" website so it really doesn't matter... at all. Go find some other website to be hyper-critical of. (To be honest, your comments make it sound like you simply weren't around when this happened, and you're bitter about being left out or ignorant of the details. But don't worry, this is where you "correct" me by saying how you WERE there, and it's just dumb to bring it up again.)
I'm not always right, you're just usually wrong.
"I have often said that I think rogues had the best designed resource system in WoW, but that we didn’t want to just copy that for every other class, or it might feel less special"
But then you went and copied it anyhow.

and here folks you have why blizzard has been trying to get into the Esports scene since the early days of WoW arenas, then S2 then HS then HoS. So then can charge 20 mil sign up fees. theyre greedy jaws are silivating because they really think they made it to the center of Esports. These people are out of their fucking minds.
I've heard kids saying they're going to do a leeroy jenkins, when asked if they know where that came from, they haven't a clue.. The whole point of them celebrating 12 years since, is that it's became famous for meaning rushing in while unprepared.
Blizzard being greedy fucks, what else is new?
Could Overwatch really hold a candle to some of the more established franchises out there? The game is certainly pleasant to look at, as are all Blizzard titles, but the whole idea of a 'Blizzard Game Athlete' has always been an issue of contention in some of the more competitive corners of the internet; someone who is exceptionally skilled at Counterstrike will be leagues ahead of someone who is unusually gifted at Overwatch, and people can generally tell the difference in skill caps. It would be hard to give them both the same spectacle value, so to speak.
There is such a thing as thinking too big, and a 20m entry fee might just be it.
