    All ye math gurus

My daughter is studying for a maths exam and she has this problem from a previous paper and she does not know how to do it. And neither do I...

    a) The equation of the line k is 2x+y-1=0.
Find the value of t such that (2t, -3t) is a point on the line k.

I assume she has to do this without first drawing the graph and determining t visually.

Any idea how to approach this?

    Substitute x with 2t and y with -3t. Solve t.
