It's much easier to never give a kid candy then to give candy to the kid, make it wait for 2 months to get said candy, and then call backsies after a month. That's what you have done. Instead of feeling like their AP farming again means something at 40, you've essentially ensured that players will now feel that their AP farming is useless for the entire rest of the patch cycle. Congrats, you extended the problem you sought to fix indefinitely.

Everyone seems to be ignoring the fact you can buy AK40 as soon as you have one character at AK40, effectively making alts much more accessible.

As someone raiding semi-hardcore, anything past the 52nd trait even with AK40 is not something you should be worrying about.

So they made it less possible to achieve the max number of ranks, in hope that even fewer people would try it and start an endless grind they are not supposed to end.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. If they had just ended it after Concordance rank 1, most people now would be complaining that their AP goes to waste.

There isn't an ideal solution to this. One can of course argue that the whole system is flawed to begin with, and I might agree to that. If you make a realistic goal to reach with a grind, people will power through it, and high end raiders will be required to power through it. But if you are not willing to commit to the grind, you might be considered weak.

I think this solution is okay-ish.

The only solution would be to nix AP and AK now. But we both know they won't do that. So I'd settle for AP made irrelevant by everyone easily capping it. But now they've taken away that too.

The solution to terrible AP grinds is not to make AP pointless. There is a middle way somewhere. Blizzard has always been bad at finding the middle may.

They already found the middle way.

Left road : Capping it = pointless, turning it into gold (54 points, AP didn't even have a vendor price beyond that)
Right road : Making each new point so powerful you HAVE to cap it to feel up-to date. (hello 54 points + NH Mythic Tuning)
Middle road : No reachable cap, small bonus to gain continuesly = current system

Yes, welcome to World of Warcraft.. it's nice to have new players. Blizzard makes their own choices, they don't always choose the solution YOU propose, because there's always someone who gets angry. So get used to it - the devs run this game, not people in this forum.

they never gave us anything higher than AK 37 (i think thats where we are at now). So no they didnt give you candy and take it away. 40 is the highest you can go and they never removed anything above 40 because you never had it in the first place.

They planned to get concordance itself at least very easily for alts with AK50. They planned for all this. This is like you earning 5000$ a month and 15 days into the month your boss comes to you "Hey, I'll only pay you 2500 this month, but you haven't earned any more yet, so it's cool, right?"

They planned to get concordance itself at least very easily for alts with AK50. They planned for all this. by now with some farming you should already have your main weapon at 52, theres no point beyond that, you are not supposed to max that out because you cant actually do that

Why on earth would you need to grind AP now? With AK40 you'll reach Concordance rather comfortably with normal gameplay.
After that? Who cares?

Most players a) don't play much these days (Maybe 1-2 hours every day), b) Have alts, c) aren't confined to a spec.

I'll be satisfied (and "done") with AP the day I have 52 points on every single Weapon on every single one of my alts. I have one of every class. Many people are like me. Blizzard just essentially said "Fuck you" to me and players like me.

Well fair enough, but y'all aint getting the sub money no more.
