If you haven't gone through all, or the vast majority of kinks or problems that weren't problematic enough to dismantle the relationship from the get go after twelve long years then they clearly weren't doing relationships in general right anyway. I've been with the same guy for almost 12 years now, we have lived together for about 10 years, neither of see the point to getting married. If we ever do get married we both agree that just going to the court and signing the paper is better and more responsible than what most people do.

I keep see people complaining about how their friend/family member wants them to pay for a seat at their wedding to the tune of about $200 a pop, that's stupid. If you can't pay for it yourself you shouldn't have one.

Whoa - I haven't heard about charging for a seat at a wedding. I agree though - if you can't afford to pay for it yourself (or you parents) then you aren't ready to have one, or at least the one you think you "need".

Too little info on the actual relation ship since the tabloid style shit stain in the OP focuses only on the "nightmare of unplanning a wedding", but my guess is that the whole thing was either last ditch effort to save the relationship, fullfilling one party's dream out of a feeling ob obligation or the guy realized that this wedding extravaganza was a sign of things to come.

Honestly thats the way things should be going. If people could look 2 years down the road after their wedding at what they could have spent the money on, they'd realize they're wasting YEARS of their lives oftentimes.
