Pretty much. If you haven't gone through all, or the vast majority of kinks or problems that weren't problematic enough to dismantle the relationship from the get go after twelve long years then they clearly weren't doing relationships in general right anyway. How have you not seen all of the 'worsts' of your partner/spouse after that long and decided if you were willing to stick with it or not before then?
I've been with the same guy for almost 12 years now, we have lived together for about 10 years, neither of see the point to getting married. If we ever do get married we both agree that just going to the court and signing the paper is better and more responsible than what most people do.
I keep see people complaining about how their friend/family member wants them to pay for a seat at their wedding to the tune of about $200 a pop, that's stupid. If you can't pay for it yourself you shouldn't have one.
Me and my partner have been engaged for about 8 years. Partly because neither of us are that fussed about getting married, but mostly because her dad died and it kinda postponed indefinitely the whole thing.
When it becomes a financial benefit to be married I'm sure we'll do something. I guess thanks to the commercialisation of wedding ceremonies it kinda feels fake these days anyway.
I may not agree with what you say but I will fight to the death to defend your right to say it.
Too little info on the actual relation ship since the tabloid style shit stain in the OP focuses only on the "nightmare of unplanning a wedding", but my guess is that the whole thing was either last ditch effort to save the relationship, fullfilling one party's dream out of a feeling ob obligation or the guy realized that this wedding extravaganza was a sign of things to come.

I come across inane stuff on the internet all the time, I generally refrain from making pointless threads about it.
But the worst part is your ridiculous analysis, that if they had gotten married quickly whatever cropped up to end things 12 years in would have magically never happened. What do you even base this on? Why do you subject us to it?
edit - those are rhetorical questions, don't bother answering them
Tennisface thread people. Don't feed the troll and he'll go away......
Who am I kidding? It's MMO-C...
No one should get married. Ever.
Just don't get married at all. Especially as a man, you got so much to lose and almost nothing to gain.
In todays throwaway culture, even relationships are something you can destroy and replace in a matter of 3 taps on a smartphone app.
Way better than being married for 10 years and then divorce.
All right, gentleperchildren, let's review. The year is 2024 - that's two-zero-two-four, as in the 21st Century's perfect vision - and I am sorry to say the world has become a pussy-whipped, Brady Bunch version of itself, run by a bunch of still-masked clots ridden infertile senile sissies who want the Last Ukrainian to die so they can get on with the War on China, with some middle-eastern genocide on the side
