Still not worth buying a Switch for.

I thought they made this for Wii-U? Or was that another Xenoblade Chronicles game?

Edit: Ah, I see, that was Xenoblade Chronicles X.

It is the only game worth buying the switch for.

Only thing i don't like is the dumbed down arts, but everything else is p cool. Even the little things like collection items have the xbx pick up noise.

That voice acting just feels off somehow. That main character voice doesnt match what he looks like at all.

Ah well, maybe there'll be dual audio if we're lucky.

The voice acting for the original Xenoblade Chronicles was among the very best I had ever, ever heard in a video game.

And then this trailer came out.

    What happened?

    Nintendo of America happened.

    NoE localized XC.

The English VA in X was pretty bad as well. Zelda VA is bad... I can't think of a NoA localized game that doesn't have a shit dub tbh.

If I am being perfectly honest here it looks more shonen and anime-ish than the previous games.

The original Xenoblade was straight up shounen. Hell, even Xenogears had shounen elements. The reason why "shounen" didn't come to mind when we played them is because they went the FMA route and handled the tone of their stories with sincerity, solemnity, and originality as opposed to melodrama and sticking with tried and true tropes. Tetsuya Takahashi, the creator, director, and writer of the Xeno series for the past two decades, has created gaming's most original plots (just look at any of his past works!), so it's pretty surprising to see a straight up shounen tone in the trailer. Then again, marketing teams usually present a different interpretation of the game than the creator anyways, and the game is already being translated for a different culture, which can further separate the creator's vision from what we get. Hell, the main BLADE's voice sounds like she's in her mid twenties as opposed to being a teenager we see. I wonder how just how different the game is in Japanese, but obviously I can't actually understand it in it's original form. Regardless, I'd rather much WATCH a subpar dub like the one we seem to be getting hear than READ a superb sub (though, in the very worst of dubs, I might consider the sub... Tellius games *cough*). The blatant fan service designs don't help either.

The dubious voice acting/translation aside, I sincerely hope we get some sort of mechs in this game. Every Xeno game has had mechs; they are core part of the series, bet it as playable vehicles like in Xenogears, or the enemy faction in Xenoblade. I'd personally like to pilot mechs again, and would LOVE to control the steampunk mecha of Xenoblade in this sequel.

I also love the idea of the world being a collection of floating islands, with airship travel between them!

They aren't islands, they are animals. Let that sink in and now see just how much cooler the setting is. ALLEY-OOP!
