Unholy "forced" to use Convergence of Fates due bad design?

Im currently feeling forced to use CoF because it makes Apocalypse sync perfectly with Dark Transformation and Dark Arbiter. It will be such a huge QoL change if they reduce the cooldown of Apocalypse down to 1min. It will be matching perfectly with DT/DA/Garg and army once you have 4p T20. Otherwise you need to use COF or delay Appoc/DA which does not feel fun at all.

Addressing class mechanics via tier, trinkets, and legendaries is the Blizzard way unfortunately.

We'll be farming for high CoF's for a while unless they nerf it to the ground... which would be bittersweet. We could get lucky and out scale it with ilvl on the new trinkets tough to say at this point.

I highly doubt that they will be happy to see UH DKs using NH trinket in Tomb, and im afraid that they will blindly nerf the trinket and call it a day.

That's what everyone should brace for..
They will nerf it and leave us with an awfully cluncky rotation.. I would love if they went all out and bake a highly reduced effect of the t20-4p for apoc into the set. It would fit thematically with the 4p, though I doubt they will give us that - lol.

We've been in that situation before...

Vial of Convulsive Shadows from BRF Iron Maidens was our BIS throughout HFC.

Although they didn't nerf the trinket but we were reliant on it to perform optimally.

Its kinda different now. They quickly swept T19 set bonuses under the rug, making T20 sets even better. Same happened to some trinkets too.

by that matter frost/DH/Rogues were forced to use it during NH, pretty sure one of the new trinkets might outdps it specily those that deal shadow damage.

It's the same situation with frost dks as well. We need CoF because it causes our 3 minute CD to perfectly line up with out 2 min CD that gets a huge benefit from it.

I coined a 915 Vial and it's damage is fucking awful even with 100% mastery.

But they were fine with all the agility users farming for EN for Bloodthirsty Instinct during NH and ToV and UH isnt the only spec that will be farming for CoF...
If they were going to nerf the trinket they would have already this really isnt that to uncommon of a situation there has always been a trinket that people go after from older raids because its better.

Unholy isn't the only spec staring down the barrel of "COF is better than trinkets 40 ilvls higher", by this point it'd be real weird for them to nerf it specifically for unholy.

Still, maybe you should look on the bright side; At least your top choice for last talent row isn't "Soul Reaper for anything and everything" anymore, after the entire expansion making you use SR

But trinkets arnt tier and the only trinket that really got nerfed was Draught in which was already nerfed for every class besides warriors before the patch

They don't care if you are using trinkets from old tiers. If you played warlords alone you would get this. The trinket off Maidens was bis by a long shot for all of hellfire.

I think the issue is more that too many people are going to farm that trinket...

Personally, I'm kinda hoping they'll nerf it. It really sucks having this meme of a trinket that happens to be better than others 30 ilvls higher sitting in my bags just bc of its effect, and to top it all, the cd reduction on arbiter doesn't even feel that great. Sometimes I'll have to sit on my ass, waiting upwards of ten seconds for it to line up with apoc, and other times I'll have to wait for apoc to line up with it bc it just comes up too fast, and that's without throwing in DT--if it wasn't for SI, I'm pretty sure I'd fucking hate this playstyle, which is nothing like the pure smoothness that was Breath+CoF+SoN.

If they just destroyed the thing and adjusted our damage to compensate, that'd be perfect. But knowing Blizz, they'll settle for doing the former only and taking a shit on our dmg bc why not?

Moonwell chalice for demo warlocks man, it was a token rep trinket from molten front (365, so pre raid Firelands) that was BiS until you got a good 397 from N DS... 32 ilvls back when there were 2 difficulties and no LFR

CoF is overly-strong and almost all the dps trinkets in ToS are pretty weak. Meanwhile the tank and healing trinkets are both quite good.

Anyway, it's fine that there's something to try and encourage people to do old content with, also you'll be gambling for it from the relinquished vendor, so just best to let it pass. I get that it's annoying, but without a significant reduction in the PPM it'll remain BiS for tons of classes.

Are you seriously complaining about being forced to use CoF as unholy? LOL. Try it as frost sometime. That trinket is literally required for the spec as opposed to just being really nice to have for other specs. It's so dumb, it keeps breath of sindragosa on its default 2 minute cool down instead of turning it into a 3 minute cooldown waiting for hrw with out the trinket. If they are going to nerf that trinket or give out QoL buffs to classes to make it not required then HRW cool down needs to be changed to 2 minutes to line up with BoS. Because while it may suck for unholy, it would completely destroy the already shitty spec that frost is.

Convergence isn't even required to be used by Unholy for DA. It helps line up DA with Apoc sure, but unless you're getting an actual extra use out of it then it's just a stat stick. DA roughly lines up with Army with t20 4 piece in play and as such many other trinkets surpass it such as Vial and Specter at even lower ilvl than what your Convergence is, Engine also being a huge player for us too.

We're not constrained at all by it. Having one at a high WF will be handy sure, not 100% needed though.

    CoF isn't BiS in ToS
