The second Kul'tiras Map is the same land mass but tiled to its side. If you look at a big picture version with both maps and the Chronicle map the 'X' on that second map lines up almost perfectly to where the capital of Boralus should be.

It has not been the same. Look at the logos. Legion is the most obvious change. It's not always the same logo in a different color and different subtitle.

Oh, god, it took me like a month to get through SV when I leveled my main ten years ago. Easily the zone I spent the most time on while leveling.

What if it's the other way around? What if they simply ended up using placeholder titles as the expansion names. In other words, the PH title came first and then they just happened to stick with it for every expansion so far. But it might not be a given that they always end up doing so.



Agree with this. I mean, for one, TBC used uppercase 'THE' while WotLK used lowercase.



Unless it's the other way around, and it's the expansion name that uses the ph title from the quest items. For example, they may have been working on a Burning Legion expansion and referred to it internally as "legion" during development, and used that on the quest gear. Then they stuck with it and named the expansion accordingly.

It might have happened this way historically, but it does not guarantee that they'll always stick with the ph title. Kul Tiras might feel like an obvious and perfect ph title since so much of it seems focused around Jaina, Kul Tiras, and possibly her father. But they may end up feeling like they should name the expansion itself something else.

Product names are the responsibility of marketing not the development staff. Naming happens during design phase not during implementation

In which timeline would that be? Because I certainly haven't seen any WoW logo that lasted 14 years beyond the vanilla one.

It's probably just a cool looking rune, but I was just thinking the same as you; it might be a portal spell to Kul Tiras.
