If they had spaceships this whole time why did they ever need Gul'Dan do summon them through? Medivh? Etc.

Why not just hop on some troop transport spaceships!

    Your argument is invalid.

For those of you who didn't play early D&D, Expedition to the Barrier Peaks was an adventure in 1980 which involved heading into a crashed spaceship as characters who didn't understand what spaceships were. The monsters were aliens, robots, and such.

D&D has had Spaceships and Rayguns longer than half the posters on this forum have been alive.

That is very true and you could also argue that they are actually teleported rather than utilize FTL travel. Also since there's a big portal between Argus and us it would be the equivalent of humans flying to the moon.

That reminds me of the old Might and Magic series entry's 6&7 and 8 in particular where 99% of the games you wander around on a forgotten realms esque high fantasy world and in 1% of the content you go through a door in a dungeon and your in a space ship with an alien queen or something like that, awesome.

Well... a hollow planet without dinosaurs would be just silly.
Meanwhile, back on Azeroth, the overwhelming majority of the orcs languished in internment camps. One Orc had a dream. A dream to reunite the disparate souls trapped under the lock and key of the Alliance. So he raided the internment camps, freeing those orcs that he could, and reached out to a downtrodden tribe of trolls to aid him in rebuilding a Horde where orcs could live free of the humans who defeated them so long ago. That orc's name was... Rend.

    Makes sense.
World of Warcraft (Retail): Frostmourne - Alliance
World of Warcraft (Classic): Remulos - Alliance

D&D fucking sucks anyway. pure fantasy is shit. scifi mixed with high fantasy is better.

and also, we're in the ass end of the universe. the legion cant physically move to us in any reasonable amount of time.

Shadows over and Shadow of indicate very different things, though. Over implies a dark, sinister presence, a malign force, acting on the land. Of implies black markets, thieves guilds, the underground (in the metaphorical sense) and so on, or that the PCs themselves are shadows (ghosts, ghouls, vampires, etc.).

Both phrasings are common in titles of RPG and wargame-related material, and Shadows over Kul'Tiras would seem to be the correct phrasing for an expansion where the old gods were a sort of background threat and the re-emergence of Kul'Tiras was a big deal. Whereas Shadows of Kul'Tiras would put Kul'Tiras as the focus of the expansion and us skulking around in its shadows (up to no good).

    Some example:

    Shadows over Camelot (board game)

    Shadows over Innistrad (MTG expansion)

Shadows over Hammerhal (Warhammer Quest expansion)

The Illidan portal makes it pretty easy to do so. Outside of that, they need something on Azeroth.

Hmm, what if Azeroth's blood is used to create a new race? Maybe Wrathion creates a draconic race using the titan's blood? From the video it's practically spilling out into an entire zone.

Maybe the Symmetra halloween skin really was a nod towards that?

Out of curiosity, what do you do for a living? I'm back in school for a second degree in Computer Science and Software Engineering, so in some regards, it sounds like we're on the same wavelength.

Just as an aside, D&D has had spaceships in it since 1980, with Expedition to the Barrier Peaks, which also featured jetpacks, rayguns and so on. They've never entirely gone away since.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Expedi..._Barrier_Peaks

Nine years later we got Spelljammer which was a full-on "Spaceships for all D&D settings!" expansion/setting, and extremely popular, and still sorta mostly kinda canon (the ships remained largely canon, the crystal spheres less so).

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spelljammer

So D&D does not in any way preclude spaceships.
