    What war?

You can't just say the war... they have been at war for almost their entire history...

? Did I ever say it wasn't? I know perfectly well how my country has been actively trying to destabilize the region since the 50/60's

Hey remember when Trump wanted Assad gone so badly, he made up a chemical weapons attack on the way just in case he felt like attacking? Seems like only three weeks ago.

That said, Trump has basically promised to give Syria to the Russians since Day One. Besides his "America First" policy of backing out of other countries (yes, even countries being overrun by a dictator backed by Putin), he was critical of Obama for getting involved in the first place, pledged he'd "end the craziness" without giving specifics in November, and suggested multiple times Clinton would start World War III over Syria. Nothing about this thread should be a surprise, at least, it should not be a surprise except that Trump keeps contradicting himself and likes to launch cruise missiles as after-dinner entertainment while eating steak.

"But those cruise missiles did serous damage to -- "

They objectively didn't. The runways were missed on purpose and planes were going within 24 hours.

    http://www.thedailybeast.com/as-syri...-the-offensive

Radical jihadists in an umbrella group with alleged ties to al Qaeda have just grabbed big swaths of territory in Idlib province and threatened to close the border with Turkey, a step that could lead to a Turkish military intervention.

The soon-to-be-ditched U.S.-backed forces were not directly involved in the fighting in Idlib, Aleppo, and Hama provinces. But they could play—or could have played—a military role against the al-Qaeda-allied group formerly known as Jabhat al Nusra, which has ousted a somewhat more moderate Islamist group, Ahrar al Sham, from most of Idlib province.
B-b-but there are no moderate rebels!
Populists (and "national socialists") look at the supposedly secret deals that run the world "behind the scenes". Child's play. Except that childishness is sinister in adults.

Stopping arming Jihadis is the smartest fucking move the US has made.

Hmm another guessing game.. is this a civil war? A territorial war? Perhaps a war involving the united states?
