Been maining Destro, should I switch to Aff?

Noticed in Wings 1 and 2 that Aff locks are tearing it up dps-wise. I've got Magistrike Restraints and Master Harvester legends. Pretty good gear circa 896. About to get 2nd rank of Concordance of Legionfall.

Question: should I start dumping AP into Aff? I just got Rend Soul, then would have to level up all the old traits, then Concordance. I have Reap & Sow for Affliction but that's it. Here's me:

This is about as good as Destro has been this expansion, an odd time to jump ship. Realistically unless you are planning on jumping up in the content you are doing you should play what you enjoy.

you seem to compare yourself in lfr, where affli can ignore all of the mechanics with their self healing, but since all of the specs are kinda close dps-wise overall, just pick what you find most enjoyable

Get both specs to Concordance (in your case just affli left, good for you) and see what is more fun and/or suites you better. You won´t loose out on any significant DPS by not dumping more into your "main" Concordance.

ok thanks guys, I love the new Flame Rift ability of Destro, Aff is just less flashy looking. I wondered if I was gimping myself if I didn't continue to boost concordance. Also, I thought that maybe cause I only had one Aff legendary, that wasn't good enough (and not the best.)

For now, I have my loot option as "destro" - was hoping to get Lessons in Space-Time. Should I switch to Aff to try to get a 2nd Aff legendary, or how would you proceed if you're me. ty.

P.S. Does Master Harvester also help in all specs? I though it was Destro only...

LFR you can play whatever the hell you want. Christ even a Ret Pally would be fine there.

Play what you enjoy. If you're min-maxing Destro just isn't performing as high as Affliction, but affliction requires a lot less of everything to be more effective.

Depends on taste. Destro looks amateurish to me.. like something I would let my kid play to keep him busy. After 13 years I don't need explosions to get what I want from the game.

OT I feel like you should know how to play all specs while keeping a clear main. Destro is in a good spot though atm.

Destro is good, but I'm advising people who aren't cutting edge to get all specs into 1 pt of Concord, as there really isn't a reason not too. The boost is pretty small per point, and with the roller coaster of Legion you might as well have em all boosted, if nothing else, in case you get bored.

My warrior rarely gets to play arms or fury, but I got both concord points because I can just play as prot then take the tokens switch specs and dump AP and go back to prot. All without hurting my prot spec enough to get me benched or be a hindrance to my raid group.

Affliction is the overall best spec for every situation, except Bgs and Mythic raiding

Just play what you enjoy the most unless you are aiming for world first. 99% of the people in this forum will tell you affliction anyway.

your dps being lower than the other warlocks has pretty much nothing to do with the spec you play, at the level you are playing you can rip the meters with any spec and any class, you just need to adjust your playstyle to the spec and get better at it, bandwaggoning on one spec to another just because some1 beat you in lfr makes you even worse rather than better.

Afaik it performs better but destro shows off my cool green fire so ima keep playing it.

OP - if you enjoy destro, stick to it No harm to try affli but don't feel pushed to play it.

The Master Harvester legendary can drop for, and can be used by, all 3 specs of warlocks.

Destro can compare to a mid tier type affy lock honestly. Affy is usually better but destro can compare if you really excel at the spec. Stick to what you enjoy though and you will play better.

I'm enjoying Destro more so, but I do find Affliction fun here and there as well. I keep both specs very close if not the same ilvl. Depending on the dungeon or raid/fight they are roughly similar in numbers for me anyway.

Aff spec is greater than any other Warlock spec. It should really be the only spec for Locks.
