Rerolled Mage - From Top to Bot :| Inc. Logs and Armory.

Hello friends. I am a new mage thats rolling from rogue, just played for 5 days on the mage now. Pumped the Ilvl, got 2 shit legendaries and bad stats.

Never the less, i really want to improve and I was gonna ask if someone could help me have a look at the logs thats most likely terrible but maybe could help me point in some kind of direction where I should look to improve as a starter.

I know my crit is low, and I will try find some ways around that asap.

Hi, welcome to the Mage hangout! Where we hate everything, especially mages!

I can't go into full-analysis mode right now, and I'm not familiar with KJ HC, but I'm not noticing anything in particular that is wrong.

As you said, your crit is a bit low, but that will come with selective gearing. Overall, frost isn't parsing very high on that fight, and the classes who are beating you in raid are in the upper half for that boss. With that in mind, however, don't use rankings as an excuse to not improve!

Your EB usage is on par for your encounter times, but your FO usage is lower than expected. Make sure you're not sitting on the cooldown for too long, particularly because it buffs your crit dmg while its active (T20 2p). I didn't look for FB/EB > Flurry > IL combos, but make sure you're doing that whenever possible (looking at crit %'s for each spell, it seems like you are). The guides here and at Altered Time have a great list of rotations, and I find its good to read over those periodically to make sure I'm still prioritizing everything right.


I think that's the obvious bits taken care of, so I'll leave the analysis of the actual encounter to someone more familiar with its flow.

P.S. Edit: Don't forget to sim yourself for different talent combinations, particularly T1, 4, and 6. LW/BC depend on your stats, FT/SI and UM/AG depend on encounter (I don't know the add flow on KJ HC).

Oo your using 2 on use trinkets, you really want to try to grab the terror trinket asap (and a better version of tarnished). The static crit on the terror trinket will help a lot towards any problems there. In terms of specific kil'jaeden tips you want to be trying to dps him while hes flying so that icy veins is ready to go when he lands, try to have 2 charges of shimmer ready to go for the armageddons.

Besides that its kinda hard to tell without more gear because your 10 ilevs behind the others with 2 of the worst legendaries and only the 2 set. I will say though, if you can go NH and grab tier gear, the 2 set is still v good even after the nerfs.
