It's an all digital game(even the collectors editions just come with a code, not the physical game) so the deadline to get the game ready is much closer to launch date and issues like this happen.

Also spoilers in a 2D platformer... lol what... I don't even know. SPOILER ROBOTNIK/EGGMAN IS THE LAST BOSS. Is that how those spoilers work? The point of playing a 2D platformer is the levels themselves, and they can't be spoiled for you if you simply DON'T WATCH FOOTAGE of them. Hard amirite?

I don't believe a single word of that post. They're clearly delaying it to push console purchases. The majority of old school sonic fans are primarily PC players, so how else will they try to get the console generation if they don't delay it?

As a sonic fan, they basically burned all my good will with Mania with this move. They already delayed it months by pushing it back to Summer from Spring and now suddenly there's PC problems they didn't foresee and it will take two weeks, about the length of time for people to buy, complete, and move on from the console versions, before they then release the PC one to get the advertisements out and about a second time.

Seriously fuck Sega. Goes to show even if you have all the right developers, they can still find SOME way to screw it up.

I paid for the game. That was delayed for months already, and now is arbitrarily being delayed just along enough for the console hype around the game to die only in time for the PC version to come out and hype it up again.

Because not all bugs are equal in severity. There are things that are mere inconveniences to launch with, and there are those that have the potential to break a game. There's rarely enough time to fix everything, so things get sorted by priority.

Whether that's what they're doing here or pulling some other sales stunt because of greater piracy on PC, I don't know.

This was more of a rhetorical question aimed at someone who thinks a developer is above criticism for not being able to detect a game breaking bug on a game they have already delayed until mere days before launch.
