People can think whatever they like, and it's not like anyone could prevent that even if they wanted. But guess what? If people voice their thoughts, and everyone around them finds it morally fucking repulsive, then those other people have no obligation to continue working/associating with that person.

I heard about that place when I was at Berkeley, supposedly some kind of libertarian hot dog shop. I guess you have to be a real shitheel to get fired from there.

A section of the restaurant’s website is dedicated to “Propergander,” posting articles about sanctuary states, nuclear war and diversity. A recent article about an anti-diversity memo circulating at Google read, in part, “Jim Crow is long gone, but it seems that Progressives (which gave us Jim Crow in the first place) now are imposing what essentially is a new form of segregation, that being ideological and religious segregation that is more reminiscent of how the former USSR treated dissidents than anything we have seen in private enterprise.”
By the way, the hot dogs are kosher-style.
So I can see why the shop would object to an employee marching with Neo Nazis shouting anti-semitic slogans and other hate speech. Is a Neo Nazi even biologically capable of making a kosher hotdog? Someone get the Google Manifesto guy on the case! Maybe he can help the fired people with some Wingnut Welfare on Patreon.

it might be legal, but businesses may not want to have a group that is associated with nazism with their posterboy, richard spencer who advocates for "peaceful ethnic cleansing" associated with them.

Everybody thinks they are on the good side. The problem is how you approach evil. Is it just a scapegoat you want to sacrifice, or are you trying to make society (including them) better?
And I've asked you to show me someone whose life was ruined. One guy wearing an Arkansas Engineering shirt was accused, the school looked into it and found it wasn't him. Didn't lose his job, doesn't sound like his life was ruined. Every past equivalency you are trying to pass off here is one with completely unsubstantiated claims, not ones with photographic or video evidence. And if you could stand on your own position you wouldn't have to straw man mine. I never said report people who just voted for Trump or wear a MAGA hat, these are people wielding torches while chanting Nazi slogans. Can you possibly understand that subscribing to an ideology that calls for the ejection or elimination of an entire group of people isn't simply having a difference of political opinion? Because your equating me outing someone who wants smaller government or lower taxes to these Nazis really calls that into question.

I don't think the problem is how I approach evil. I think sitting back with your thumb up your ass ignoring the issue or downplaying it as simple political differences is a far bigger problem.

Wait a minute, some of these white nationalist protesters just want to keep their history. Part of the reason some of these people are protesting is because society is trying to suppress a piece of history. Some of these protesters feel like because they're white, their culture and history doesn't have much value to warrant keeping parts of history. They don't feel included in today's society because society is snubbing them in favor of many other cultures and races. They just want to be treated equally and feel apart of society, think what you like about the guy whose statue is being removed but you can't deny that he stood up for what he believed in and should be recognized by society, not removed and suppressed.

How is this line of thinking any different to the ignorance of people claiming all religious practitioners are terrorists? So just because I defend white history I'm Nazi? Great thought process mate. Are you going to neglect to mention the counter protesters and their violence enacted upon the protesters or is it not convenient enough for your narrative?

Have they been thrown in jail for their beliefs? You are very confused about what freedom of speech is.

P.S. White supremacy is not a "political belief".

You use the term "defend white history" and live in Queensland, so I'm going with yes. Kek.

Jesus christ dude, people was literally holding nazi flags. Do you see Hitler statues in Germany? It's their story and I guess they should embrace it... no? No you fucking don't, cause that shit doesn't belong in the streets. They even will beat the shit out of you if you even try to do the nazi salute. There's good history and bad history, and we should learn from the bad, while embracing the good history.

And what people is defending isn't history, is their own interests.

Truth be told, I asked the question hoping Thurin would explain the term he started throwing about.

I know it's a favourite term for populists of all persuasions. Appealing to the frustrated, unsuccessful folks by pointing to a group and claiming they do not deserve what they have ("unearned income") is like Populism 101.

Step 1: Get mad about statue removal
Step 2: Protest with KKK and Nazis
    Step 3: ???
    Step 4: Profit

You're right, that's the logic that normal people use when they get mad about something and wish to save a statue. That's always how the sane react.

Look, I don't give a single shit about that statue, and I believe even the bad parts of history should be preserved, else we forget, but there is no reason ever that anyone should look at all of the people waving flags with swastikas and wearing white hoods, chanting and advocating violence and death to minorities and wielding torches while saying this, being okay with beating people in a parking garage and running people over with a car, and then finally after all of that go "I'm okay with this."

At that point you go past wanting to save a statue and head right into elite, S class, professional thundercunt territory.
