If Trump really did shoot someone in the middle of Fifth Avenue

Let's say Trump decided to put his infamous theory to the test and stood in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shot someone. Assume it was just a completely random adult person who did not provoke him in any way. How many supporters do you think he would lose?

No, I don't think even Trump would ever do something like this, but I'm curious as to how many people would stop supporting him if he did.

I think he'd lose around half his supporters. I honestly believe the other half are so hardcore for him, and care so much about the fact that he hates everything they hate, that they would find a way to overlook it or excuse it away.

I want to believe that even the most fanatical of his supporters would consider that a deal breaker, I really do. But after all the crap in the last few months... I'm starting to doubt there is anything he could do that would turn them away, even shooting some random innocent.

But fortunately, we will likely never know for sure.

Trumpsters would find a way to defend Trump and claim that it was necessary by either fashioning some fake news that the victim was trying to kill Trump or by painting the victim as some horrible human being who deserved it (or both.)

I'm running under the scenario that Trump would just shoot someone for giggles and not any justifiable reason. In which case I'd say about half.

As grotesque as his base is at deciding to conveniently ignore all the terrible things he's doing there, I believe, is still a line. And a cold blooded murder would cross that line for many.

Now, mind you, that doesn't mean for one second they'd vote for Clinton or another Dem. But they wouldn't support Trump anymore.
