    Experience with chiropractic

So I've been experiencing some ongoing neck and back pain, and I've wanted to try chiropractic for that for years now and now I finally think I will, can anyone share their experiences with chiropractic? Good/bad, helpful, not helpful? Bad consequences afterwards?

Results can vary. You have try a few and rely in reccomendations from people looking for the same work you need.

I've had nothing but great experiences with them and always feel relieved after a session.

    You should be suspicious.

I went once. Felt quite painful at first but as he finished breaking my body I suddenly felt so much better.

    Mixed feelings.

Chiropractic stuff does help people in certain cases, but in a LOT of cases (read: most), it doesn't. A chiropractor is not a doctor. They do not need to be medically licensed or trained. All you need is some college credit (doesn't matter what), and have logged a certain number of hours and completed a 'chiropractic degree'

Do you want to pay for someone to crack your neck? Because that's all it is. Oh and if you want to risk being killed by snake oil salesmen, it's just the thing. It's not real medicine. It's not real science.

    They're hacks. It's a scam. It's bullshit. Placebo. Humbug.

Go to a masseur instead who'll actually do something for you, to help you actually and constructively deal with your muscle pain.

I went to an orthopedic specialist for insoles for my posture. He was also a chiropractic, so when I told him of my neck pain, he had me lie down on my belly, told me to breathe in and then out, pushed on my back, made some things crack, repeat once more, told me to come back in 6 months. He told me he released some blockers and that there are still more but that that's all he can do for now. The pain immediately got better, went away almost completely, and is now pretty much gone, as long as I make sure not to sit down all day at the PC. So I'm careful of chiropractics but whatever he did helped.

It's quackery, in other words it's a lot of ohh and awwing with a few cracking sounds and not a whole lot of results. But some people swear by it, and some people swear they been abducted by Aliens, so there you have it.

I have never gone, but if you do, probably make sure they are insured and read carefully anything you sign especially in Texas. If you're visiting.

Chiropractors are bullshit. Some of them are straight up snake oil salesmen and tell you they can crack your back and cure your cancer (okay, maybe a bit of an exaggeration). Others will tell you the truth, that it will just offer temporary relief. That's all it is really, popping/cracking things and offering a temporary relief for a few days.

You need to stretch and/or strengthen the proper muscles to actually fix the issue. Go see a physio. Or see a doctor who will check you up and see if you need a mri, and refer you to a physio etc.

One day I woke up with like a pinched nerve in my back and could barely move had a chiropractor fix it and hadn't had a problem since.

Chiropractors are not medical doctors. Chiropractics literally started as a sham from a guy who claimed he could cure deafness from spinal adjustments. His son later opened a school and charged people to train in this pseudo-medicine.

Massage therapy, physical therapy or severe cases, surgical intervention are far more effective and safe

Don't fuck around with your spine, go see an actual doctor.

My association with chiropractor is just charmed. Solid direction, perception and eagerness for the diversion I do and when something is causing me issues (as a general rule in my neck or spine) he quickly manage me. Have you thought about that you may truly have a ton of issues with your back that warrant a ton of treatment? In case you are incredulous, just endeavor another, possibly? My individual gives me enormous measures of exercises for me to manage without any other person, that way I won't inconvenience his time or my wallet, I also used recliner that time.

I always thought it was supposed to be spelled as chicoraptor.

    My life has been ruined.

Had to go to one once after I suffered from whiplash after being rammed from behind in a car crash while I was a stop sign (Foreigner driver that couldnt speak english, let alone understand road signs). Started to develop severe backpain especially at the end of the day, it would start out the day as a dull pain/numbness then ramp up to agony.

Researched who was in good in town and who had a reputation.

Went in for one consultation, he asked me to place my arms a weird way, lifted up from behind and twisted me.

Been perfect since and never had pain again

I know a lot of people love to signal what SMART LEARNED PEOPLEtm they are by screaming that chiropractors are all quacks who tell you they can cure anything by cracking your back, but these people are severely ignorant and don't really know much about what they're talking about (but don't let that stop you from your shitposting, guys!).

Some of them are definitely quacks, but I'd say it's no worse than with real doctors. Some intelligent person posted earlier in this thread concerning a ruptured artery, as if doctors have never killed anyone before lol. If you see a chiropractor who is honest and knows their craft, you'll probably think much differently concerning the entire field. Adjustments normally involve alleviating acute pain temporarily, but in the case of pinched nerves and misaligned joints they can give permanent relief. You should also never try to recreate what they do on your own, because even if they're not 'real doctors', they know a lot more about doing it than you do, especially when you're trying to do it on yourself.

Anyways, I've never actually needed one but I had an adjustment once and it felt really, really good. I can see the merit in getting an adjustment for a medical reason because one time, as a personal experience of mine, I woke up after sleeping pretty wrong on my back/neck. My whole neck and all down my back were stiff as FUCK and really hurt, like I could barely turn from side to side it was so bad. I told my father and he recommended cracking my neck, so I tried it on myself and my whole neck/all down my back cracked and popped and the pain was gone and my normal range of motion restored, so to call it all "quack medicine" is profoundly ignorant and more in line with "all doctors are quacks" lines of thinking than it is with intelligent thought.

Well. If you like to be scammed, why not. At best it does very little and in some cases they actually damage you. What's crazy is my country actually allow these scammers protected titles.

There's actually quite a bit of research on much quackery this field is, but here's a text for you to read; https://health.spectator.co.uk/the-e...arm-than-good/

Another bullshit area that's generally somewhat accepted is acupuncture.

ever actually been to one? Or did you read about someones opinion of them in UFO data mag and considered that fact?

A quick youtube search will show you some of the work chiro's can do and it can be pretty life changing.
