Angry Traitor Russia sells S-400 advanced missiles to Turkey!

Had Putin sold them earlier his fighter jet would have been shot down by Made_in_Russia missiles instead!

Balkans need to tell Russia to get lost, arming the neo-ottoman turks who are busy with ruining Syria n funding terrorist groups!

Look at the map, so tell me, Russians, which country would you be ok with Turkey using those missiles against? I'm betting with the constant border violations between Greece n Turkey, the Turks will be tempted to try out the new missiles..or maybe against Armenia one of your close allies? Or against your allies in middle east?

You Russians, why didn't you think of arming the Ottomans during the middle ages? You could have made loads of gold!...

Turkey says paid deposit in S-400 deal with Russia

    Tue Sep 12, 2017 10:2AM

Turkey says it has paid a deposit as part of an agreement with Russia for the purchase of an air defense system.

“Our friends have already signed [an agreement on] S-400s. A deposit has also been paid, as far as I know,” President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was cited by Turkey’s Hurriyet Daily News as saying.

“The process will continue through a transfer of a credit from Russia to us. Both Mr. Putin and myself, we are determined on this issue,” he added, referring to the Russian president.

Bloomberg first reported the deal in July, but there came no official confirmation from either Turkey or Russia. Bloomberg said back then that the agreement would see Russia send two S-400 systems to Turkey by the end of 2018, and then help the country domestically produce two more. It put the deal’s value at an estimated $2.5 billion.

S-400 is an advanced Russian missile system. It is designed to detect, track, and destroy planes, drones, or missiles as far as 402 kilometers away. It has previously been sold only to China and India.

Before gravitating towards Russia, the Turkish military walked out of a $3.4 billion contract for a similar Chinese system.

The withdrawal, reports said, took place under pressure from the United States, which dominates the Western military alliance of NATO, of which Turkey is a member.

Neither the S-400 nor its Chinese equivalent, FD200, is compatible with other NATO military systems, meaning that they are not bound by NATO’s instructions that prevent Turkey from using such weapons.

Turkey technically isn't an enemy with the US. Also hard to enforce a 1960s era agreement after we armed Afghanistan in the 80s. Or the simple fact that was signed with the USSR if such an agreement even exists.

    Why do people need this?!?!?!

Countries are arming up as if ww3 has already come.

What a waste of money. I swear this is some tinfoil hat shit these "leaders" do to make their friends and themself richer by the day.

Weapon sales, especially to regions that arent under attack, are idiotic garbage.

Does that mean NATO can take apart the system and see how to thwart it?

So they sold it to NATO? But not only NATO but to the NATO member that has no problem popping shots at Russians.

Russia must really be going broke.

I call BS. Either the equipment is bugged or the story is fake, no way Russia is THAT desperate.

I think it's a safe bet that Erdogan's Turkey won't be leaking any data about the S-400 system to US, Germany, or any other non-Turkish NATO member any time soon.

But W/E Its been Tit for tat anyways starting in Clinton era with Nato after Russia and Chencs... But ya ok that solved my own thought of hey whats gonna come of this. But nothing will which is good on all parts.

Please, not trying to be a country jockey here. But the U.S and Germany are "THE" Intelligence countries. Its why back when the wiki leak stuff happened showing we had surveillance in countries that their response was a slap on the wrist. Its because they invited us in [There wont ever be an official statement but from something as damaging as that unless it was also state favored it woulda been wars.]

I feel once a country starts selling their military technology, everyone already knows it's full capability.
The only secrets in military technology are kept in the equipment you never see.

Yeah, Look at China's Carrier Killer, They announce it and then the U.S pulled out something [cant remember exactly atm its been like 8yrs] that could make their best missile a paperweight. Then with the new U.S Tech Lasers. Missiles are sorta moot unless fired close range...... SHOTGUN MISSLES

Why do you use 'n' as a contraction for 'and'?

It's not like you're afraid of typing lots of letters.

Lasers are limited by horizon (can't shoot them through water) and weather (lose power really fast through rain or fog).

With hypersonic missiles coming there will be just 4-5 seconds to destroy them from the moment they appear on horizon... and in real combat they'll come in swarms, not one after another.

Its a good thing lasers travel at light speed then! Also, there are plenty of wavelengths that arent effected by fog/clouds and what not, even then with the amount of power going through it, the potential deflection would require 100's of miles of it to make it ineffective.

A geopolitical achievement for Russia, but not much changes. Turkey and Russia will be adversaries even if Turkey get frosty with the West.

As for the above laser talk, lasers are a joke.

Yeah, a great example of that is the F-22 Raptor.

Yes in the way that they make it laughable easy to shoot down incoming ordnance.

Yea the laser will be great against a low tech swarm attack...

But im sure making lightsaber noises and ray gun pewpews is really cool and fun. They are good for morale not much else.

Its funny that you think only one laser will be mounted on capital ships.

Thing is, lasers don't have to be strong enough to burn the missle up, just strong enough to fry, or disable the tracking system. We already have mobile laser systems on some of our combat deployed helicopters that are more than powerful enough to disable most MANPADs and can burn a mans eyes out from 10k feet.
