Terrorists are committing politically/religiously motivated murders - nobody disputes this. The fact remains that they are still relatively few and far between and fewer people in the UK have been killed by terrorists since the turn of the century than in the 70s, 80s or 90s.

In fact, more people in the UK died from terrorist attacks in the year I was born than the whole of the 21st century and more than 4 times the number of people killed in that same time period were murdered by terrorists in both 1972 and 1988.
