Hello, I haven't played since WoD, just got a new PC and decided to start playing again. Could someone point me to a guide or perhaps share their ideas on how to best utilize the catch up benefits and gear up fast ?

I think you still need to unlock world quests once doing the certain rep requirement for them?? Used to be needed for 1 characters on account at least.

Of course theres still the class hall questlines, finishing all broken isle story zones(reputation) , (suramar is kinda optional but still required for flying on broken isles).

Other then that do the broken shore scenario first, then get to Argus.

Don't do random stuff on Argus before unlocking World quests first however, and also first do the main argus questlines to the Argus-specific Worldquests.

I am not sure how strong the scaling on argus is for lower itemlevels, but there's always normal and heroic dungeons too if solo.

Pretty much what Teri said. But I'll add my own little bit to it, don't push yourself too hard, it'll feel very overwhelming to 'catch up' in AP, take it easy and wait a few weeks because Knowledge will be higher which means more AP gain for your artifact. Just don't push yourself or you'll end up feeling like you need to play 12 hours a day 7 days to catch up accordingly.

1. Grab the whistle from khadgar to open the WQs
2. Do a few AP WQ that should get you to 35+ points
3. Go to Argus and get farming

Other than raiding and dungeon spam you can buy 910 token gear. It's a slow currency to get though; it would take you weeks to fully gear a character with token gear. I'd still go to Argus though and get 880 in every slot as a base.

Go to Argus and kills stuff, make some crafted gear or buy it, upgrade it to 935 :3

What every single person here forgot to say :

1)go to dalaran to unlock world quests
2)do the borken shore campain/unlock (you can't skip it if you didn't do it at least once on your account)
3)do the Argus campain/unlock

Unlock World Quests by getting to honored with all factions (Khadgar will have a quest for you to do this, or just unlock them all straight away)
Get to 36 traits ( shouldn't take too long, maybe 1-2 WQ's, you might be there already)
Complete the Broken Shore intro scenario
Get to Argus
Download Handynotes + Handynotes Argus.
Get all the chests you can
Buy 910 gear with Veiled Argunite (You can max have 1500 at the same time, make sure you don't cap) from the chests.
Do the Argus quests until you unlock Mac'aree
Use the Lightforged Warframe (You unlock it through the Argus quests) to kill rares
Buy more 910 gear
Finish the questline

Finish your Orderhall questline at some point during the above. If you have money, buy 850/900 gear to make it easier.
