So why is this story about his political views, and how they're insufficiently in lockstep with the American right wing?

Because there's absolutely nothing wrong with him being a communist.

What's wrong

1. You can't do this type of stuff in uniform. It makes the Army look like shit.

2. Soldiers do not have freedom of speech like civilians do. Any service member can be punished through UCMJ for the things they say in person or online. Or in this case expressing a political view so openly while in uniform. (Even if it's in his lame ass West Point uniform).

3. “Any commissioned officer who uses contemptuous words against the President, the Vice President, Congress, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of a military department, the Secretary of Transportation, or the Governor or legislature of any State, Territory, Commonwealth, or possession in which he is on duty or present shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.”

I keep getting pinged back to this thread by folks like yourself who didn't bother reading my later posts where I clarified that I was stating the "I am a communist" part is totally fine, but the making political commentary in uniform and insulting his superiors is obviously not.

Nope. It doesn't mean it's not socialist, though. Their focus is on reforming capitalist through integrating socialist reforms, with a mixed economic system.

How was he robbed of the democratic nomination? He literally lost by MILLIONS OF VOTES and hundreds of delegates before the super delegates were even counted. I even voted for Bernie in the primaries, but I didn't whine that he got cheated because I know he didn't.

Facts aren't ignored by liberals. Unless you can provide examples. Conservatives are the ones that are ignoring facts. No one ever said it wasn't ok to be proud of your country and to respect the flag. But you lot, are bitching about the people that aren't even though it is their constitutionally protected right.
